Chapter 471 The Elevator Door Won't Close

Mary was really all over the place.

Soon, she heard the water running in the bathroom, and finally, she let out a sigh of relief.

She started to relax and hugged herself.

Just as she was about to drift off, the bed beside her dipped, and Matthew's cool, damp body pressed against hers as he held her tight.

Mary didn't move or resist.

Matthew kissed her shoulder, "Mary, good night."

Mary's eyelashes fluttered, but she still didn't respond.

The next day.

When Mary got to work, she saw Sean was already there. He was rocking a clean white shirt, looking fresh and full of energy.

Catherine was chatting with him while Sean responded with a smile.

Seeing her arrive, Sean immediately stood up and walked over, "Ms. Smith, good morning!"

Mary gave a faint smile, "We're colleagues now, you can call me Mary."

Sean touched his nose a bit shyly, saying, "Mary."

"Alright, good morning." Mary nodded slightly.

Catherine, sitting at her desk, said mockingly, "If I didn't know you were married, I'd think you two were a couple."

Sean frowned at her words and said, "Don't talk nonsense, Mary and I are just friends."

Catherine sneered, clearly not buying it.

Mary ignored her and asked, "Are you familiar with the work content?"

Sean nodded, "I've already contacted a few project managers we've worked with before to see if they have any projects. I want to try to get some."

Mary said, "Keep up the good work!"

"I will!"

Sean's eyes were shining!

Maria walked into the office looking tired, yawning as she came in. Before going in, she glanced at Sean, "Sean, come here for a moment."

"Okay."

Sean followed her into the office.

Maria said, "There's a dinner meeting this afternoon. Come with me, so you can meet more project managers."

Sean nodded, "Okay, boss."

Maria smiled slightly, "Work hard, you'll have great opportunities."

Sean smiled shyly.

Maria looked at him, feeling pleased.

She thought to herself, 'If only his attention wasn't on Mary.'

In the afternoon, Sean was no longer in the studio.

Mary was still busy drawing, and when she looked up, it was already dark outside.

Once again, she was the only one left in the office.

She stretched, turned off her computer, and got up to leave.

But as she waited for the elevator, the hallway lights suddenly went out.

She was startled!

She looked warily into the darkness, her palms sweating!

At that moment, the elevator arrived, and she quickly stepped inside.

She pressed the close button, but for some reason, the elevator doors wouldn't close!

She didn't dare to go out, standing in the corner, taking out her phone to contact a friend!

She stared intently at the entrance, extremely nervous!

Just then, her phone rang, startling her again, but she quickly answered the call.

"Are you off work?"

Matthew's deep voice broke through the eerie silence, providing her with a comforting sense of security amidst the terror.

"I'm in the elevator, and the doors won't close." Mary swallowed and said hoarsely.

"I'm coming up right now."
