Chapter 344 Go to Hell to Find It?
Matthew chucked a document over. "Check it out yourself."
Herman grabbed it and saw that the project DK Group was working on got swiped by Montagu Group!
Richard stealing a project from his own son?
Herman raised an eyebrow, surprised. "What's he playing at? Isn't he scared of pushing you over the edge and losing the family fortune?"
Matthew sneered. "He still thinks Samuel's alive."
"No way!" Herman put down the document. "We all saw Samuel's body. How can he think Samuel's still kicking?"
Matthew said, "Because of some scribbles, he thinks Samuel wrote them recently and wants me to find him ASAP."
Herman was speechless. "Where you gonna find him? In the afterlife?"
He was super annoyed. "I don't get it. You're both his sons, why's he only thinking about Samuel? Has he ever thought about what you've been through all these years?"
Matthew's face was cold. "If he cared, would I have gone through all that?"
"Good point," Herman sighed, "Even favoritism shouldn't be this bad."
Matthew said, "True or not, we gotta check it out. If we don't, DK Group might crash before it even takes off."
Richard would think Matthew doesn't want Samuel back.
The office vibe was heavy.
Just then, Matthew's phone rang. He pulled it out and his eyes paused.
He answered, his tone icy, "What's up?"
Mary's soft voice came through. "Give me Mr. Adams' number."
Herman overheard and immediately said, "Why do you need my number?"
Mary was surprised. 'Herman and Matthew are together? Perfect.'
She said, "Hand the phone to Mr. Adams."
Matthew's face soured, but he handed the phone to Herman.
Herman took it and asked, "What do you need me for?"
Mary asked, "Mr. Adams, Shirley's been with you, right? Do you know she's hurt?"
Herman's expression froze. "She's hurt? When did this happen?"
Mary frowned. "You don't know?"
Herman said, "Ms. Smith, you make it sound like I hurt her."
"No, just asking," Mary said, "When did you two split up?"
Herman said, "I don't remember."
Mary grew more puzzled but couldn't figure out what was off.
"Okay, got it." She hung up.
Herman looked at the phone, handed it back to Matthew, and sneered. "She didn't mention you at all."
Matthew's face darkened. "Got a lot of free time, huh?"
Herman nodded. "Yep."
Matthew's eyes narrowed dangerously, a chill sweeping over Herman like he wanted to kill him.
Herman stood up and said, "Your wife didn't mention you, why you glaring at me? If you got the guts, go find her."
With that, he turned and left.
Matthew leaned back, yanking at his tie in frustration. 'She called just to find Herman? Since when does she go to Herman for stuff?' he thought.
He realized he couldn't let Herman be idle, nor could he let Mary be too free.
He pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "I'll pay you. Start a company and hire Mary."
