Chapter 599 Staring at Robert
Matthew's handsome face, tall and upright posture, and natural air of nobility made him stand out on the bus.
He held the handrail with one hand, the other hand in his pocket, looking down at Mary who was sitting on the seat. He smirked, attracting quite a bit of attention.
Two young women sitting in the back took out their phones to take pictures, whispering, "He's so handsome. I always take this bus, how come I've never seen him before?"
Her companion laughed, "Didn't you see he's been looking at that woman the whole time? They're obviously a couple!"
A middle-aged woman also noticed Matthew and walked over, tapping his arm and asking, "Do you have a girlfriend?"
Matthew's handsome eyebrows raised slightly, as if he hadn't expected someone to suddenly ask this question.
However, his gaze fell on Mary, and he said, "I'm married."
The middle-aged woman looked at Matthew with a bit of regret on her face.
Others who heard Matthew's words also gave up their eager thoughts.
Mary frowned, glanced at him, and said, "I'm not your wife."
Matthew leaned down and whispered, "Mary, if you keep denying our relationship, I'll kiss you right now."
"You!" Mary's expression changed, and a hint of anger appeared in her watery eyes.
Matthew's narrow eyes conveyed a sense of danger, as if he really would kiss her if she continued further.
Mary held back; she didn't want to argue with him in front of so many people.
The bus swayed for an hour before arriving at a stop near Maple Grove Manor. Mary got off the bus directly and walked towards Maple Grove Manor.
Matthew wanted to follow, but at that moment, his phone rang. He took it out and saw it was a call from Richard.
His expression turned colder, but he still answered.
Richard's tone was very unfriendly, "Matthew, what did you do to Laura? You got her kicked out by the Sarah family. Have you forgotten that she saved your life?"
Matthew's tone also turned cold, "Then you should ask her yourself. If it weren't for her, I would have been in a coma for a year and lost my memory for another year."
Richard's tone became serious, "What do you mean by that?"
Matthew asked, "Is Laura at the Montagu Manor?"
Richard snorted coldly, "You are heartless and shameless, but I can't ignore her. After all, she saved your life!"
"That's perfect. I'll have someone send something over later for you all to see." With that, he hung up the phone and called Michael, giving him some instructions.
When he looked up again, Mary was nowhere to be seen.
His eyes turned colder, and he dialed another number, "Keep an eye on Robert and see who he's closely connected with at the Montagu Manor."
Mary turned a corner and headed straight to Shirley's house.
As she got out of the elevator, she saw Shirley coming out and asked in confusion, "What's going on?"
Shirley looked at her with surprise, "Why are you here?"
Mary said, "I had nothing to do, so I came to see you. What's up with you?"
Shirley sighed, "Don't even mention it. My house has been getting broken into a lot lately. The place is always turned upside down, but nothing is ever stolen. Isn't that strange?"
