Chapter 152 You Beg Me

Mary's eyes went wide when she heard him. She'd expected Matthew to ask for something crazy.

Matthew smirked, "What's with that look? Too easy for you? Want me to change it?"

"Okay," Mary replied quickly, worried he'd make an even crazier demand.

Matthew waved her off, "Alright, you can go now." Mary turned and left.

Sitting at her desk, she was still in a daze.

Only one meal, was that it? Cooking a plate of pasta counted as a meal, right?

Mary chuckled to herself, feeling more relaxed than ever.

Soon, it was time to clock out.

Mary packed up her things and headed out. But when she reached the company's entrance, she saw the familiar Aston Martin parked there.

That morning, she saw this car in Shirley's neighborhood while its owner was obnoxiously honking the horn.

Mary thought about how she'd looked down on this car earlier, and now she was about to get into it.

Glancing around and seeing many colleagues nearby, she took out her phone and casually said, "Wow, the Uber arrived so quickly." Then, she walked towards the luxurious Aston Martin.

Those nearby who overheard her didn't think much of it.

Mary got into the car, only to see Matthew rolling down the window. She immediately grabbed his hand, "What are you doing?"

Matthew looked at her coldly, "Am I an Uber driver to you?"

Mary sighed, "Matthew, be reasonable. We shouldn't flaunt our relationship. If it gets out, it'll cause endless trouble. Can you please spare me some peace?"

Matthew smirked, "Beg me."

In her mind, Mary cursed him silently. But she still relented, "I'm begging you." Mary looked at him, her gaze steady.

Matthew let go of her hand, started the car, and drove off.

Mary breathed a sigh of relief. Was it her imagination, or was Matthew a bit more agreeable today?

Not dwelling on it further, she asked, "What do you want to eat?"

Matthew replied, "Let's hit the supermarket first."

Mary paused, "You want to go grocery shopping with me?"

In a low, magnetic voice, Matthew said, "We've done it before."

Mary's expression faltered for a moment, and suddenly, an image of Matthew before he regained his memory flashed in her mind.

Indeed, he used to go grocery shopping with her every day. If she came home late, he would even prepare dinner despite the terrible taste.

But he always looked at her with a proud expression while she ate, and when he sought praise, she couldn't help but pinch his cheeks.

Back then, he was like an affectionate and handsome puppy. Hmm... and now, he was just a jerk.

They went straight to the supermarket near Maple Grove Manor.

Mary pushed the cart while Matthew tossed whatever he saw into it.

When Mary saw him throw a box of condoms into the cart, her face changed, and she immediately took it out and put it back on the shelf.

"Matthew, be careful with what you're putting in the cart!" Mary said.

Matthew glanced at her, then picked up the condoms and tossed them back into the shopping cart. "These are for me. Why did you put them back?"

Mary's gaze turned cold. "You said it was just for a meal."

Matthew teasingly looked at her, "Do you think these would be used on you?"

Mary's breath caught in her throat. She suddenly chuckled as she was being presumptuous again.
