Chapter 483 I Only Acknowledge Laura as My Granddaughter-in-law

Maturity came at a cost.

Victoria gave him a long, hard look before finally sighing, "Alright, I won't push you to marry Laura right away, but her status as your fiancée stays. She's the only one I recognize as my grandson's wife."

Matthew raised an eyebrow, "Which grandson's wife?"

Victoria frowned, "You're my only grandson right now!"

Matthew smirked, "So, if the Montagu family gets another grandson, she wouldn't have to marry me?"

Victoria was fuming, and her medical alert device started beeping, her face turning more and more unpleasant.

Matthew stood up, "I'll be super busy from now on, so I won't come by to upset you. Honestly, you were better off when you were confused."

With that, he walked out without looking back at Victoria.

A bunch of doctors and nurses rushed in to check on Victoria and stabilize her blood pressure.

When Laura walked in, she saw Victoria looking unwell, gasping for breath.

"Mrs. Montagu, what's wrong?" She hurried forward, gently patting Victoria's back, and asked with concern.

Seeing her, Victoria grabbed her hand and pointed to the divorce decree on the bedside table.

"Laura, Matthew is divorced. From now on, get along well with Matthew and marry him as soon as possible. He will treat you well."

This way, the Montagu family wouldn't owe her anything.

"Matthew is divorced?"

Laura was stunned, picking up the divorce decree and flipping through it, her eyes lighting up with joy!

He really got divorced!

Was her wish finally coming true?

Victoria's condition soon stabilized.

Laura couldn't show too much happiness and kept her company.

However, her mind had already drifted to Matthew.

Victoria noticed her thoughts and smiled, "It's almost noon, and Matthew needs to eat lunch. You should take him some food; it will help build your relationship."

"Mrs. Montagu, you're so good to me!"

A shy smile appeared on Laura's face as she lowered her head.

Victoria said, "You saved Matthew, making you the benefactor of the entire Montagu family. Of course, I must treat you well."

Laura sneered inwardly and thought, 'You didn't say that before, treating that Mary like a treasure. You just don't remember now. Once it all comes back, who knows if you won't regret today's decision. I have to make sure you never remember what happened before!'

Laura took the lunch box and went to the DK Group.

However, when she was about to go up, she was stopped by the receptionist.

"Sorry, do you have an appointment?"

Laura said, "I'm a friend of Matthew's. I have something to discuss with him. Our relationship doesn't require an appointment."

Her words were ambiguous, emphasizing the relationship.

The receptionist was slightly taken aback, and then said, "Sorry, I need to make a call to confirm."

Laura replied, "Sure."

The receptionist dialed the secretary's office.

Soon, the receptionist looked at her, "Please go ahead."

Laura smirked and directly entered the exclusive elevator to the CEO's office.

Michael had just come out of the meeting room and, seeing her, was first surprised, then asked, "Ms. Griffin, what brings you here?"

Laura responded, "I'm here to bring Matthew lunch. Is he busy?"

Michael's expression was somewhat subtle, saying, "Mr. Montagu is in his office."
