Chapter 479 Going to Get a Divorce Tomorrow

Hearing Victoria use death as a threat, Matthew's face immediately darkened.

Laura rushed forward, tears streaming down her face. "Mrs. Victoria Montagu, please don't say that. Your health is the most important thing. Let's get you checked out, okay?"

Victoria gave her a relieved look. "Laura, you're such a good girl. The Montagu family owes you so much. If I don't do something, I'll die with regrets."

Laura was a mess, crying her eyes out.

The room was tense.

Matthew wasn't budging, and Victoria's expression grew more serious. She stared at him, waiting for his decision.

Mary walked over, looking at Matthew. "Let's get the divorce over with. Grandma's health comes first."

Victoria looked at Matthew, desperate.

Matthew glanced at Mary and smirked. "You're happy with how things turned out, aren't you?"

Mary pressed her lips together. "But Grandma's health is more important."

Matthew nodded, "Alright, then let's get a divorce."

Victoria let out a sigh of relief and then fainted right there on the hospital bed.

Doctors and nurses rushed in to take Victoria away.

Laura wiped her tears and looked at Matthew. "Matthew, don't let Mrs. Victoria Montagu's words get to you. You love Mary, and I won't come between you two."

But Matthew didn't even look at her and followed the medical team out.

Victoria's condition was still up in the air; they had to wait for her test results.

Mary followed too.

She watched Matthew's cold back.

For some reason, she didn't feel much relief or sadness.

Just a strange calm.

This was the outcome they were supposed to have.

But for a moment, she thought about the good times they had shared.

In the end, there was no going back.

Victoria's test results came back quickly.

The emotional stress had caused her blood pressure to spike, leading to her coma.

She needed to rest and avoid any more stress.

Matthew told the caregiver to take good care of Victoria. When he turned around, he saw Laura still standing at the door. He wanted to warn her not to come again.

But Victoria liked her a lot now.

Thinking about it, he decided to let it go for now.

He'd deal with Laura once he figured out what really happened two years ago.

Matthew left the hospital.

Mary followed and asked, "When are we getting the divorce?"

Matthew looked at her. "You can't wait, can you? Got what you wanted. Ready to celebrate?"

His eyes were full of sarcasm.

Mary frowned. "I didn't mean it like that. I just think that when Grandma wakes up, she'll want to see our divorce papers. If we don't do it quickly, what if she gets stressed again?"

Matthew's eyes darkened. He looked at her for a while, then suddenly grabbed her hand, pulling her close. "Mary, is there nothing I can do to win you back?"

Mary's breath caught. She looked down, staying silent.

Matthew sneered and let go of her. "Fine, see you at the courthouse tomorrow."

Then he got in his car and drove off.

Mary stood there for a long time, feeling numb. After all, too many unexpected things had happened regarding their divorce before.

This time, nothing was certain until the divorce was officially done.
