Chapter 646 Matthew Will Most Likely Lose
Michael saw this and didn't try to persuade him further.
Judging by Matthew's demeanor, it was clear he had anticipated this, so he must have already prepared a response.
Michael turned and left the office.
Matthew's hands paused. His handsome and sharp face remained cold and indifferent, but his eyes now carried a hint of depth.
The hospital.
Shirley threw the invitation directly into the trash can.
With a look of disgust, she said, "It's really disgusting. Why does Matthew always do such bastardly things? He hasn't even divorced yet and he's already looking for the next marriage partner. It's really gross."
Mary's expression was indifferent, "I'm used to it by now; it's not the first time he's been disgusting."
Shirley sighed, pulled a chair over to sit by the bedside, and said with a face full of melancholy, "I don't know when he'll agree to divorce you. You two have no feelings for each other anymore, so why keep entangling like this?"
Mary's expression became a bit dazed.
She recalled Matthew's promises—his vow to change, his plea for another chance, and his unwillingness to abandon their fractured relationship.
But Shirley was right, what's the point of continuing this entanglement?
Mary said, "Help me up, I want to sleep for a while."
"Okay." Shirley nodded and helped her lie down on the bed.
Mary closed her eyes. She had overexerted herself during exercise earlier and was extremely tired. She fell asleep in no time.
When she woke up again, she heard a deliberately hushed conversation in the room.
"Robert, are you serious? The Montagu Group has started targeting the DK Group? Are they starting to fight internally?" Even though Shirley's voice was deliberately lowered, it couldn't hide her excitement.
Robert responded, "That's the information I got. As for why this is happening, it's still unclear."
"This is great!" Shirley slapped her thigh, her face full of glee, "It would be best if Matthew goes bankrupt. That way, he'll be too busy to bother Mary."
As she spoke, she suddenly thought of something and looked at Robert with bright eyes, "Robert, aren't you a competitor of the DK Group? This is the perfect opportunity for you to crush him so he can never recover!"
Robert smiled helplessly, "Things aren't as simple as you think. For now, other companies can only watch. What if this is a trap set by the Montagu family? If anyone gets involved, who knows what the outcome will be."
Shirley nodded, "I think you're right. There's not a single good person in the Montagu family."
"What are you guys talking about?" Mary woke up and looked at them.
Robert stood up and walked over, "Did we wake you?"
Mary said, "No, I just woke up. What were you talking about?"
Robert said, "Something happened today with the Montagu family. The Montagu Group has started a full-scale attack on the DK Group."
Mary's expression froze.
Robert observed her reaction and saw that she didn't show any signs of tension or worry. A dark light flashed in his eyes.
"Matthew is probably no match for Richard. The Montagu Group's foundation is much stronger than the DK Group's. In this internal conflict, Matthew is likely to lose." He picked up an apple and started peeling it while observing Mary's expression.
