Chapter 714 Meeting Sean
Mary said, "I couldn't sleep, so I just kept watching movies."
Shirley scooted over, sat next to her, wrapped her arm around Mary's, and rested her head on her shoulder.
"Mary, I'm dating Herman." she said.
"What?" Mary was startled and looked at her.
Shirley then recounted what had happened and smiled. "I didn't expect Herman to agree so quickly."
Mary frowned. "Are you sure about this?"
Shirley shrugged. "What else can I do if I'm not sure? Do I really want to make him mad? If I can enjoy it, why should I make myself suffer?"
Mary pondered for a moment. "You have a point."
Seeing Mary's serious expression, Shirley laughed. "You don't need to worry about me. I know what I'm doing. What if we develop feelings in three months? If Herman insists on marrying me, wouldn't I have hit the jackpot?"
Mary was silent for a moment. "I hope everything goes as you wish."
Shirley laughed at her and stood up. "I'm going to take a shower. You should get some sleep, too."
"Okay."
Mary nodded and watched Shirley go into her room, her feelings a bit complicated.
Joan and Robert were getting married, so Herman didn't need to get engaged for now. On the surface, there seemed to be no obstacles for them to be together.
But would Herman really follow through?
When the three months were up, would he really let Shirley go?
For some reason, a faint sense of unease crossed Mary's mind.
Mary had been running back and forth between the hospital and home. It seemed like she had a special connection with the hospital. If she had known, she would have studied medicine.
Nora's arm was recovering well, and she had gained a bit of weight, looking much healthier.
Every time she saw Mary, Nora's eyes sparkled.
One day, Mary went to the doctor's office to ask about Nora's follow-up recovery, but she unexpectedly ran into Sean.
"What are you doing here?"
Mary looked at Sean in surprise.
Sean was also puzzled. "A friend of mine got injured and is staying here. I came to visit. What about you? Are you hurt?"
As he spoke, a look of concern appeared on his face, and he looked Mary up and down.
"I'm fine."
Mary quickly shook her head to prevent any misunderstanding.
Sean visibly relaxed. "I'm glad you're not hurt."
Mary replied, "There was a little accident before. I hit a young girl with my car, so I come by every day to check on her."
Sean asked, "Was she seriously injured?"
"Her arm was broken," Mary replied.
A broken bone was no small injury.
Sean said, "Is there anything I can do to help? Just let me know."
"No, I've already arranged for a caregiver to look after her." Mary smiled and then asked, "By the way, how's your mom?"
Sean's expression darkened a bit. "She's not doing well. She's been asking about you a lot lately."
Hearing this, Mary said, "Then I'll go with you to see her."
"Are you sure it's convenient?"
Sean's eyes brightened.
Mary smiled. "It's fine. I'll just let the caregiver know."
Sean said, "Thank you."
Mary said goodbye to Nora and gave the caregiver a few instructions before leaving with Sean.
They arrived at the Williams Group hospital.
At the door of the hospital room, Sean hesitated and looked a bit troubled.
