Chapter 511 You Seem to Have Changed
Matthew suddenly stood up, and a sharp and intense aura surrounded Mary. His hands were placed on either side of her body, directly encircling her in his embrace.
His sudden approach made Mary tense up instantly. A hint of wariness appeared in her clear eyes as she looked at him.
"What are you doing?"
Matthew chuckled softly, gazing at her, and said in a low voice, "Mary, when did you become so bad?"
Mary tugged at the corner of her lips, but it formed a cold arc. "I didn't want to be like this, but you all forced me."
She could have lived a simple and carefree life.
It was his forceful intrusion, his unwillingness to let go, and the pressure from others that turned her into what she is now.
She didn't want this either.
Mary glanced down, with a hint of sadness.
Matthew saw this and felt inexplicably uncomfortable and distressed.
Looking at her damp hair, he suddenly stood up and left, returning soon with a hairdryer.
"I'll dry your hair."
Mary frowned and refused, "No need, I can do it myself."
Matthew said, "You can do everything yourself, but I want to dry it for you."
Mary paused and didn't stop him.
She vaguely felt that Matthew had changed a bit.
But not much.
She didn't think much of it.
Whether he changed or not didn't matter to her.
The warm air from the hairdryer flowed through her hair under Matthew's fingers. His movements were very gentle and slow. She leaned back on the sofa, comfortably closing her eyes.
Then she felt a wave of sleepiness
By the time her hair was dry, Mary had already fallen asleep on the sofa.
Matthew put the hairdryer aside and gazed at her, a sigh passing through his heart.
Getting her back was not easy.
He picked her up and placed her on the bed.
She seemed uneasy, her eyelashes fluttering as if she might wake up at any moment.
His hand fell on her head, soothing her.
After a while, she calmed down and fell asleep again.
Matthew leaned down and kissed her forehead.
At that moment, her phone vibrated. He frowned, quickly picked up the phone, and left the bedroom quickly.
Closing the bedroom door, he immediately answered the call.
"Mary, how are you? Did you go to the hospital? Are you hurt?" As soon as the call connected, a barrage of questions from Shirley came through.
Matthew said coldly, "She's already asleep."
"Why are you answering the phone? Where's Mary? What did you do to her?" Shirley got angry as soon as she heard Matthew's voice!
"Mr. Montagu, can you get it straight? You and Mary are divorced. Can you stop bothering her? What you're doing is crossing the line!"
Shirley was not polite and spoke harshly.
Matthew's expression was indifferent, his tone devoid of any warmth, "I can get her phone. Where do you think she is?"
Shirley sensed blatant provocation!
So damn infuriating!
"If you are so tough, tell me where you are. I'll make you pay right now!"
Shirley said through gritted teeth.
But Matthew had no interest in talking with him. He said coldly, "She's very tired and is resting now. Don't call again."
With that, he directly hung up the phone.
