Chapter 825 Clarification
"Michael."
"Yeah?"
Michael quickly pulled out his laptop and projected the video onto the screen behind him.
"Bet none of you have seen the full video yet, huh?" Michael said with a smirk.
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone's eyes were glued to the screen.
The video showed a hospital corridor. In the middle of the hallway, a middle-aged couple was yelling at the door of a patient's room. A young woman walked up to them, ready to argue.
Due to the angle, the woman's face wasn't visible.
But it was clear that the middle-aged woman was about to hit the young woman, and that's when Matthew stepped in.
"This is the full video," Michael said, pausing it at the right moment.
"Our Mr. Montagu was acting out of a sense of justice, not bullying like the internet claims. If Mr. Montagu had really done something wrong, the police would handle it, not your words."
After watching the video, the reporters in the conference room were stunned.
Was this really what happened?
Acting out of a sense of justice?
[I knew it! A guy that handsome couldn't be a bully.]
[I always thought there was more to it. The video was so short, and it's been everywhere these past few days. Could this be some kind of corporate warfare?]
[So, corporate warfare means smearing the other company's CEO?]
[Even if that's the case, it doesn't justify him hitting someone. The other person is much older. What if something happened?]
The comments were all over the place.
Matthew stood up and said coldly, "The facts are right in front of you. I won't say anything more. If you still have doubts, go ahead and call the police."
With that, he left the conference room.
The reporters were left bewildered. They had come here expecting to uncover something new.
But what did they get?
It turned into a clarification press conference.
Once the video was out, the online buzz would definitely shift, unless something else came up.
Meanwhile, Mary was watching the live stream.
Seeing Matthew handle the situation so calmly brought a smile to her lips.
He clearly didn't care much, yet he still showed up at the press conference. While everyone was watching the video, he was bored and looking at his phone.
It was evident that this incident didn't affect him much at all.
Throughout the whole thing, Mary didn't show her face, and there wasn't a single mention of her.
This should be the end of it, right?
Tomorrow, she could go pick up the divorce papers.
Just thinking about it made Mary happy.
"Seeing him okay makes you pretty happy."
Sean's voice came from behind her.
Mary turned to look at him, "When did you get here?"
Sean said, "I've been here since the live stream started."
His gaze at Mary was complicated, as if he wanted to say something but held back.
Right now, he didn't have the right to say those things.
Mary said, "Of course, I'm happy he's okay."
Sean looked at her in surprise, "You guys made up?"
Mary shook her head, "No, but our personal issues won't affect other matters. He's not that bad."
Sean's expression grew even more complex.
"I'm exhausted, but I'm finally back."
Maria's voice came from the doorway, and everyone turned to see her looking worn out.
Mary asked, "Where did you go?"
