"Mary, it looks like you're recovering well. You look much better."
Linda walked in, a smile spreading across her face.

Seeing her, Mary was visibly surprised and paused before saying, "Linda, is there something you need from me?"
Linda pulled up a chair and sat at the edge of the hospital bed, her smile radiating warmth. "You must have heard about Matthew, right?"
Mary nodded slightly, "Yes."
Linda sighed, "I didn't expect things to escalate this far, but ultimately, it's because Matthew refuses to divorce you. If he had just listened, things wouldn't have come to this."
Mary's expression remained calm, "So, what is it that you want to say?"
They were well aware of the true nature of her relationship with Matthew.

Mary looked puzzled, "What way?"
Linda glanced at Shirley, hesitating.
Shirley understood and said, "Mary, I'll go out and buy you some fruit."
"Okay." Mary nodded.
After Shirley left, Linda finally spoke, "As long as you act ruthlessly enough, Matthew won't continue to pester you. My method might be a bit extreme, but it boasts a solid chance of success."
Mary said, "Just tell me directly."
Linda stared at her for a moment, then suddenly asked, "Mary, your life was originally very peaceful. It was only because you met Matthew that you encountered all this. Have you ever had a moment where you really hated him?"

She thought seriously for a moment, then shook her head, "No."
