Chapter 805 This Will Satisfy You

Mary let out a soft sigh, watching her breath briefly mist in the chilly air before disappearing.

Was she caught up with Matthew again?

She had tried to keep her distance, but somehow, their connection seemed to grow stronger and more complicated.

This left Mary feeling uneasy.

All she wanted after the divorce was a life free of drama.

She just wanted things to be simple.

Mary got into the car, and Matthew slid into the passenger seat right after her.

She didn't say much, just started the car and headed towards Maple Grove Manor.

By the time they got back, it was already nine at night.

Mary had been running around all day and was pretty worn out. She yawned, her eyes showing a hint of fatigue as she glanced at him. "Can we do this another day? I'm really beat."

Matthew replied gently, "You don't have to do anything. I can take care of it myself."

Mary was at a loss for words.

Without expression, she opened the door.

Matthew's tall frame moved closer, and she nudged him away, "Go take a shower."

Matthew cupped her chin and planted a firm kiss on her lips. "Alright, wait for me."

With that, he headed to the guest bathroom.

Mary went to the master bedroom, took a shower, and when she came out, he still wasn't back. She simply pulled back the covers and got into bed.

When Matthew came in, he saw she was already asleep.

The soft glow of the bedside lamp cast a dim light in the room. She lay on her side, her face buried in the pillow, sleeping peacefully.

He raised an eyebrow slightly, thinking about waking her, but stopped halfway.

She was so tired; he decided to let her be.

He got into bed, lying beside her, and wrapped an arm around her.

Mary shifted slightly, finding a more comfortable position, and continued to sleep soundly.

Matthew held her, staring at the ceiling, unable to put his feelings into words at that moment.

He suddenly began to reflect on his past actions. What had he been doing all this time?

Wouldn't it be better to just live a good life with her, holding her every night?

Thinking about it brought a twinge of regret. He tightened his arm around her, kissed the top of her head, and drifted off to sleep.

The next morning.

Mary opened her eyes to find herself wrapped around Matthew!

And one hand had somehow slipped inside his robe, resting on his chest.

She slowly withdrew her hand and tried to get up, but his arm tightened around her, pulling her back.

"Are you trying to seduce me?"

Matthew's voice came, still a bit husky.

"I wasn't." Mary instinctively denied it.

Matthew looked at her intently. "Then why were you touching me? Are you upset I didn't satisfy you last night? Should I make it up to you now?"

"No..."

Mary started to refuse, but he kissed her before she could finish.

She was flustered.

"I haven't brushed my teeth."

She struggled, trying to push him away.

Matthew didn't care, continuing to kiss her, taking his time.

The morning was indulgent and intense.

Both of them were breathless. Matthew went to take a shower first, while Mary lay in bed, trying to calm her racing heart.

Just six more days, she could hold on!

Two days later, Mary suddenly received a call from Michael while she was at the vineyard, reviewing blueprints and making on-site adjustments.

"Mrs. Montagu, can you come to the company? Mr. Montagu has been injured!" Michael's voice was urgent.
