Chapter 120 He is a Jerk
Since Matthew ignored her, Mary shut her eyes and stopped resisting.
She'd given up long ago; there was no escaping him anyway.
As sleepiness crept in, Mary closed her eyes.
Matthew's kisses trailed to her ear. Seeing her eyes shut tight, his gaze grew complicated.
He was no longer dripping with water but sweat. Staring at Mary's swollen lips, he grabbed her chin and kissed her again.
Mary had just dozed off, and now he was waking her up.
"You jerk," Mary muttered, pushing him weakly, but it didn't help.
At least this way, she wouldn't say things that pissed Matthew off or bring up divorce now and then.
The next morning, when Mary woke up, Matthew was already gone.
The messy memories from last night lingered, and as she turned over, she winced as her back and waist ached.
She felt awful all over!
'Such an asshole!' Mary cursed under her breath and took a moment before getting up to freshen up.
She grabbed some bread, and just as she finished, her phone rang. It was Shirley.
"Hello?" Mary answered and put the phone on speaker.
Shirley said, "Mary, care to go shopping?"
"I'm feeling exhausted," Mary said.
"What's wrong?" Shirley asked.
Mary sighed, "Maybe in a few days."
Her hesitant tone immediately piqued Shirley's curiosity. "Did you get laid last night, Mary? Are you finally moving on? Spill the tea. Was he good?"
Mary chuckled coldly, "It was the jerk you know."
Shirley stopped laughing, not finding it funny at all.
After some cursing, she said, "Mary, look on the bright side. You enjoyed it, right?"
Mary remained silent.
"In that case, let's hang out, get some skincare, and then go shopping. We should always pamper ourselves!" Shirley suggested.
Mary thought for a moment, "Alright, come pick me up."
"Great!" Shirley replied.
The two met up and headed straight to the beauty salon. After a full session, Mary finally felt relaxed.
Shirley linked arms with her and said, "That jerk left hardly a good spot on you."
"Forget it. My treat today!" Mary said.
"Mary, you're so generous!" Shirley replied.
They entered the mall and went straight to the jewelry store.
Shirley spotted a pink diamond necklace, and her eyes lit up, "Mary, check this out. Isn't it beautiful?"
Mary walked over, her eyes lighting up at the necklace. "Bring it out for me."
"Sure." The salesperson brought out the tray, but the next moment, a hand moved the tray over.
Laura's voice chimed in, "Matthew, what do you think of this necklace? I like it."
Mary and Shirley both turned to look. Laura and Matthew had walked in, and Laura had taken the necklace off the tray, held it up to her neck, and looked at Matthew expectantly.
