Chapter 438 Divorce Matthew
Robert burst out laughing. "Perfect timing, wait up for me!"
Mary replied, "Okay."
As soon as she hung up, she noticed Shirley's knowing smile.
Feeling a bit uneasy, Mary asked, "Why are you smiling like that?"
Shirley sighed, "Mary, looks like you've really moved on. First, it was that college guy from No. 9 Club, and now it's Robert. Who's next? Are you really gonna cheat on Matthew?"
Mary rolled her eyes. "You're overthinking it. Sean saved me, and Robert helped me a bunch. How could I ignore them after that?"
Shirley looked skeptical.
Mary didn't say anything more. She was done talking to Shirley.
But Shirley wasn't ready to drop it. "Honestly, I think Sean's great, and Robert's even better. You should go for Robert. He's from the Williams Family and can stand up to Matthew."
Mary looked helpless. "Why would Robert stand up to Matthew for me?"
Shirley replied, "Because you've got a great body and a nice butt. No man can resist your charm."
Mary fell silent.
Seeing Mary's blank expression, Shirley quickly added with a playful smile, "I just think you'd be happy with anyone but Matthew."
Mary asked, "Why do I have to be with a man? I can be happy on my own."
Shirley immediately gave Mary a thumbs-up. "You're right!"
Why did Mary need a man? Wasn't she doing just fine on her own? She could handle everything herself!
About 40 minutes later, there was a knock on the door.
Mary got up to open it, and Shirley hurried to put on a jacket.
Shirley could be carefree around Mary, but she wouldn't dare be so casual in front of Robert.
"Robert, long time no see," Mary said as she opened the door to a man with dyed red hair, smiling.
Robert opened his arms. "It's been ages, aren't you gonna give me a hug?"
His beautiful eyes showed a faint emotion. When he looked at someone with that affectionate gaze, it made them feel deeply loved.
Mary stepped forward to hug him, intending to let go quickly, but Robert suddenly hugged her tightly. "Mary, you've gotten thinner. Have you been unhappy lately?"
Mary's body stiffened.
Robert immediately let go and added, "Matthew treats you so badly. Divorce him, I'll protect you, okay?"
It was a bit sudden.
Mary didn't know what to say.
Shirley ran out just then and greeted, "Robert, long time no see!"
She opened her arms and smiled at Robert.
Robert hugged her. "Long time no see."
Shirley joked, "Mary's already under your protection, so you wouldn't mind taking care of me too, right?"
Robert replied, "Don't worry, I won't. I'll protect both of you!"
Shirley smiled, "You're awesome! Come in quickly. Knowing you were coming, Mary made some extra food."
Robert said, "I've been abroad for a while, and what I missed most was her cooking. How is it so delicious?"
Shirley chimed in, "Right? I think so too. It's really delicious. I just told her to open a restaurant; it would definitely be booming."
Robert looked at Mary. "When are you opening it? I'll invest and be the major shareholder."
