Chapter 587 I Want Her to Live a Life Worse Than Death
"I want her dead, or better yet,I want her to live a life worse than death!"
Mary clutched Matthew's arm tightly, her tear-filled eyes brimming with intense hatred.
"Alright." Matthew agreed almost without hesitation, then looked at Sophia. "Go call her over."
Sophia was stunned for a moment, then quickly responded, "Okay."
However, as she reached the door, she thought of something and turned back. "If she sees Mary like this..."
Matthew also realized this and looked at Mary in his arms. "I'll have my men take Laura out. You can watch her on the monitor, okay?"
Having just vented her emotions, Mary was now too exhausted to speak. She just trembled all over, leaning against Matthew in silent.
Matthew looked at Sophia. "Keep an eye on Laura. Don't let her leave too soon."
"Got it." Sophia nodded and left the room.
Maria stood up, exchanged a glance with Matthew, and then said to Mary, "Mary, let me take you home to change clothes first."
Mary nodded. "Okay."
Maria stepped forward to support her. "Mr. Montagu, I'll take her home now."
Matthew said, "Alright."
Maria and Mary left together, while Matthew sat on the sofa in the room and lit a cigarette.
With smoke all around him, Matthew thought about what Mary had said and dialed Michael's number.
"Mr. Montagu, what's the matter?" Michael answered quickly, his voice tinged with confusion.
Matthew asked, "Has there been any large transfer of funds from the company recently?"
Michael said, "I'll check with the finance department."
"Do it quickly." Matthew said coldly.
After hanging up, Matthew smoked in silence, his mind repeatedly replaying Mary's tear-streaked, despair-filled face.
She said all her suffering was because of him and asked him to let her go.
Matthew had tried to give her up, thinking he had managed before and could return to his old ways.
But he failed, realizing he couldn't be without her.
Even if she never smiled at him, he still wanted to see her.
Letting her go was something he could never do in this lifetime.
About five minutes later, Michael called back. "Mr. Montagu, there was indeed a fifty million dollar expenditure. I checked, and it was Victoria who sent someone to make an investment, and the investment target was Ms. Sarah's company."
A cold, sinister look appeared in Matthew's eyes. "Fire everyone involved and blacklist them across the entire industry!"
Michael was shocked and quickly responded, "Get it!"
This matter was serious, serious enough to cross Matthew's bottom line!
Michael was also puzzled. Why had Victoria suddenly changed her behavior?
She used to like Mary so much, but now, after waking up, she liked Laura.
It was truly baffling!
Mary returned home, then took a long, hot shower. Afterwards, she felt much more relaxed.
When she came out of her room, she saw Maria sitting on the sofa looking at her phone.
Hearing the sound, Maria looked up and saw that Mary seemed to have regained some color. She stood up and asked, "How are you feeling now?"
Mary said, "I'm fine. Let's go."
Maria's expression was a bit complicated. "Are you sure you're okay?"
