Chapter 439 But You Haven't Slept with a Beggar
Mary grinned, "Alright, when I get that idea, I'll let you all know. You can invest, and I'll be the chef."
Shirley nodded enthusiastically. "Sounds awesome!"
The three of them walked into the dining room.
Robert's eyes lit up at the sight of the food. "I gotta capture my first lunch back home."
He whipped out his phone and snapped a pic.
Mary and Shirley stood by the table, their hands making it into the shot.
After posting the photo, he said, "I'm starving, let's dig in."
Mary and Shirley chimed in, "Let's eat."
They all sat down.
The room buzzed with even more energy.
As night fell, Herman was at the bar, bored and scrolling through his phone, still thinking about how to approach Snowy.
Then he saw Robert's post.
Herman opened the picture and saw the mouth-watering food, clearly made by a pro!
He noticed two hands at the edge of the table in the frame.
Squinting, he zoomed in and studied one of the hands. "Shirley?"
Matthew looked up. "You miss her already?"
Herman shook his head. "No, Robert posted something, and Shirley's having a meal with him. There's someone else too, and if I'm not wrong..."
Herman handed the phone to Matthew. "Can you tell if that's Mary's hand?"
Matthew frowned, took the phone, and immediately recognized it. He knew Mary's body well, every inch of it.
Robert was back.
And his first meal home was with Mary!
Matthew gripped the phone tightly, looking pissed.
Herman took the phone back. "Looks like Robert did well abroad. He won't leave easily this time."
The better Robert did, the more his father would value him. Even as an illegitimate child, he could inherit the Williams Family.
Matthew picked up his glass and started drinking.
Herman asked, "What's your next move?"
Matthew replied coldly, "What do you mean? Mary and I are married. He can't do anything to change that."
Herman said, "What if Robert's willing to be the third wheel for love?"
Matthew's face darkened. "I'll make him regret it."
Herman shivered. Matthew looked terrifying.
Herman suggested, "Let's go see what's up. Why are the three of them having a meal together?"
Matthew shot him a cold look. "You just want to see Shirley, don't you?"
Herman denied it. "Are you kidding? I'd rather date a beggar than be interested in her."
Matthew responded, "But you haven't slept with a beggar."
Herman fell silent.
Matthew was great at making him feel awkward!
Herman pointed at Matthew, wanting to retort, but gave up.
No point in arguing; they'd just trade jabs! So why bother?
Shirley pulled a few beers from the fridge and smiled, "To celebrate Robert's return, we need a sense of ceremony."
Robert raised an eyebrow. "You sure?"
He smiled and looked at Mary.
