Chapter 325 Impossible to Let Her Have Her Way

Matthew couldn't buy what Mary was selling.

If she didn't do it, how could she be so chill after seeing Laura bolt outta his room?

How could she be all like, "Let's get a divorce"?

She had to have this all mapped out from the jump!

He should've never trusted her!

She wasn't worth his trust, not one bit!

Matthew let her go and said, ice-cold, "Stay here and think about what you've done."

Then he stormed outta the room.

Mary started hacking up a lung. She felt dizzy, weak, and just plain awful!

But his misunderstanding and those harsh words? They cut deeper than anything!

She yanked the door open and tried to bounce!

But when she got to the villa's entrance, two big dudes in black stopped her. "Mrs. Montagu, Mr. Montagu said you can't leave."

"Move it!" Mary, barely keeping it together, tried to shove the bodyguards aside.

But then, two maids showed up and dragged her back. "Mrs. Montagu, please don't make this hard for us. We can't go against Mr. Montagu's orders!"

The maids yanked her back to the room and locked the door!

"Let me out! You can't do this! Open the door!" Mary pounded on the door like crazy, her eyes going red with desperation! 'How could Matthew do this to me? What right does he have to lock me up? I didn't do anything wrong!' she wondered.

But she was already weak from just waking up, hadn't eaten, and was emotionally wrecked. After a few more bangs on the door, she blacked out and hit the floor.

The two maids outside exchanged looks.

Lucy Torres asked, "Why's it so quiet?"

Emily Hayes shrugged. "Let's not worry about it. Just do what Mr. Montagu said."

Lucy looked worried. "What if something happened? She didn't look too good."

Emily rolled her eyes. "She's probably just trying to get Mr. Montagu's attention. Let's stick to our jobs, or he'll get pissed."

Lucy thought about it and nodded, so they went back downstairs to their chores.

Matthew sat in his car, his long, handsome fingers holding a cigarette. The light blue smoke swirled around his face, hiding the cold look in his eyes.

Matthew thought about how he'd been falling for her lately and found it hilarious!

Mary didn't give a damn about him!

She even wanted another chick to hook up with him!

How could she be so low?

Matthew took a deep drag, pulled out his phone, and dialed. "Where you at?"

Herman's voice sounded beat. "In Oak City, what's up?"

Matthew said, "Why'd you go so far?"

Herman replied, "Trying to help you keep Shirley. What's your deal?"

Matthew's voice dropped. "Forget about Shirley. I'm not giving up on Mary."

"What?" Herman was shocked, "From what I see, Mary wants out. Aren't you scared she'll hate you if you don't let go?"

Matthew sneered. "She crossed me. No way I'm letting her win."

Herman smelled some juicy gossip and quickly asked, "What went down between you two? Spill it so I can get a laugh."

"Get lost," Matthew snapped and then added, "Get back here. I need a drink with you."

Then he hung up.

"Matthew's got a real bad temper," Herman muttered, looking at the dead call, then walked into the ward.
