Chapter 452 Lock Mary Up

The first guy to run over pointed at Mary and said, "When I got here, she was standing next to Mrs. Victoria Montagu, and Mrs. Victoria Montagu was crying the whole time."

Everyone's eyes turned to Mary, and they started whispering.

"She took Mrs. Victoria Montagu away. Did she do something to her?"

"I don't think so. Mrs. Victoria Montagu seems to like her a lot."

"Are you sure? A woman like her could fool Matthew and Mrs. Victoria Montagu. Who knows what she did behind our backs."

Richard looked at Mary with a serious face and asked, "What happened?"

Mary took a deep breath and explained everything, ending with, "If you don't believe me, check the surveillance footage."

Richard nodded at the butler, who went to check the footage.

Five minutes later, the butler came back looking a bit uneasy and said, "Mr. Montagu, Mrs. Mary Montagu took Mrs. Victoria Montagu to a blind spot in the surveillance, so we don't know what happened."

Richard's face darkened even more. "Mary, what did you do to her? How could you be so cruel? You know she has Alzheimer's, and you still dared to harm her?"

Mary shook her head. "No, I didn't!"

She looked at Victoria, hoping she would back her up.

But Victoria was clearly scared. She had stopped crying loudly but was still sobbing softly, looking very pitiful.

Mary was panicking. She forced herself to stay calm and said, "A servant stopped the sliding wheelchair. He can vouch for me!"

Richard snorted, "I don't want to hear your excuses."

"Lock her up first. We'll sort this out later!" He ordered.

"Yes!" The butler called for the servants, who covered Mary's mouth and dragged her out through another door.

Mary struggled, wanting to explain more, but Richard wouldn't even look at her!

As the sole heir of the Montagu Family, Matthew was busy entertaining guests and had no idea what was happening!

Mary was locked in a dark, damp room, which seemed like an abandoned storage room.

The air was filled with the smell of decay and mold, and there was dust and cobwebs everywhere.

Mary pursed her lips and found a relatively clean spot to sit down.

She took out her phone and called Matthew. Right now, Matthew was her only hope.

However, there was no answer, and the call eventually disconnected automatically.

Mary's face looked very grim, thinking, 'Who pushed Victoria's wheelchair? Why would they frame me?'

The storage room was cold, and as night fell and the temperature dropped, it got even colder.

She was wearing a formal dress, which provided no warmth at all.

Matthew walked in from outside and asked a servant, "Where's Mary?"

The servant lowered his head and replied, "Mrs. Mary Montagu left first."

Matthew's eyes darkened. Did she leave without saying a word to him?

Thinking about her dislike for this place, Matthew lowered his eyes slightly. Maybe it was better that she left; she wasn't comfortable here anyway.

Matthew asked another question, "Where's my grandma?"

The servant replied, "Mrs. Victoria Montagu took her medication and is resting."

Matthew responded, "Alright."

At that moment, another servant walked over and said, "Mr. Matthew Montagu, Mr. Richard Montagu wants to see you in the study."
