Chapter 190 Resisting His Approach

"You know we haven't divorced, right?"

Matthew's face turned even colder, his eyes gleaming with a chilling light, and his whole demeanor radiated a fierce, icy aura.

Robert's grip on the steering wheel paused. He glanced at Mary; she looked rough, with pale lips and swollen cheeks. Who knew if she had other injuries?

Facing Matthew, Mary felt a surge of resistance, especially since he was right next to her. Earlier, she had called him for help, only to be met with a cold "hang up."

Mary thought, 'How ironic.'

"Robert, let's go." Mary didn't look at Matthew and reached to close the car door.

Hearing her, Matthew's face darkened even more. He grabbed her wrist, pulled her out of the car, and forcefully wrapped his arm around her waist, dragging her into his car.

"Let go of me!" Mary struggled, feeling pain as she twisted.

Matthew shoved her into the car and closed the door. He looked at her coldly through the window. "Don't you dare get out!"

Mary's hand paused on the door handle, her fingers curling slightly, and she pressed her lips together.

Seeing she didn't get out, Matthew's expression softened a bit. He got in the car, hit the gas, and drove off.

The bodyguards only got into their cars and left after seeing Matthew's car drive away.

Only then could Robert drive off.

Sitting in the car, his charming eyes flickered with a hint of danger. Just then, his phone rang. He took it out and frowned. "Hello?"

A gentle female voice came through, "Robert, how's everything going?"

Robert's tone was indifferent, "Everything is under control."

The woman's voice became even gentler, "Robert, I knew you could handle it. I won't disturb you then. Let me know if there are any updates."

"Okay." Robert responded nonchalantly and then hung up the phone.

If Mary or Matthew were there, they would immediately recognize the voice as Linda's.

Matthew, with a cold expression, drove straight to the hospital and had the doctor give Mary a full check-up.

The results came out quickly; Mary only had superficial injuries and would recover with a couple of days of medication.

After that, Matthew took her to Montagu Mansion.

Seeing the familiar villa, Mary felt a bit resistant.

Sitting in the car, she said indifferently, "What do you want from me?"

Mary wondered, 'Everything is over, so why is he looking for me now?

When I called him earlier, isn't he very impatient?'

A faint mockery appeared in Mary's eyes.

Matthew felt a wave of frustration in his chest. He looked at her deeply and said coldly, "Get out of the car."

Mary frowned in resistance, "If you have something to say, just say it."

Matthew's grip on her chin tightened, forcing her to look at him.

"Mary, since when did you and Robert become so close?"

Matthew stared at her intently.

Mary frowned and said, "None of your business."

Matthew's fingers tightened on her chin, "We haven't divorced yet. I don't want you doing anything unfaithful to our marriage."

Mary looked at him in surprise, as if she couldn't believe he could say such a thing.

Matthew, feeling a pang from the look on her face, didn't want to look at her any longer. He averted his gaze and got out of the car.
