Chapter 252 Better Off Dead
Jenny was making a wish when suddenly, someone grabbed her wrist hard, causing her so much pain she almost screamed.
"Jenny, where's Mary?" Matthew's eyes were cold, like he might kill her any second.
Jenny's face went pale. "Matthew, it hurts. Let go."
Instead, Matthew tightened his grip. "Tell me, where is Mary!"
Tears streamed down Jenny's face. Seeing Matthew's icy stare, she shrank back. "I... I don't know where she went, Matthew. You're really hurting me!"
Matthew, looking furious, showed her a surveillance video on his phone. It showed Mary being brought to Jenny, then Jenny saying something before bodyguards took Mary away. But Maria couldn't find out where they took her.
Jenny's eyes widened. "I... I..."
Matthew grabbed a wine glass, smashed it, and pointed the broken glass at her face. "Tell me, where is Mary!"
Terrified, Jenny blurted out, "I'll tell you. Just let go of me first..."
'Matthew's scary! He'd ruin my face for that bitch!' Jenny thought, filled with resentment towards Mary.
Matthew let go, still glaring at her.
Jenny saw Donovan and ran to him, crying. "Dad, Matthew's being so mean to me!"
Donovan patted her shoulder, his face darkening as he looked at Matthew. "Matthew, what are you doing?"
Matthew showed Donovan the surveillance footage, causing Donovan's face to darken further. He told the butler, "Find the young lady now!"
The butler nodded and ordered a search of the villa courtyard.
Matthew said, "No need. Just ask her directly."
Jenny's eyes flickered. 'By now, Mary must have been eaten by those mastiffs. Even if not, she must be crippled,' she thought. She just needed to stall a bit longer.
"I don't know, I really don't know..." Jenny cried, looking pale.
Donovan said, "Matthew, I've sent people to look for her. Jenny's scared. Don't target her anymore."
Matthew's face grew colder. "Uncle Donovan, she sent Mary away. Are you sure you still want to cover for her?"
Donovan's expression froze. He felt Jenny tense up. He patted her shoulder. "Jenny, you've crossed the line. You're grounded for the night. Don't come out without my permission!"
"Dad!" Jenny looked at him in disbelief. It was her birthday. How could he ground her? She'd never been punished like this before.
Donovan looked stern. "Go now!"
Jenny bit her lip and ran towards the villa, filled with resentment towards Mary. 'That bitch Mary better be dead, or I'll never let her off!' she cursed silently.
