Chapter 644 Delivering Invitations
In the blink of an eye, Mary had been hospitalized for half a month. She could now walk, but she had to take it slow.
Her broken leg needed proper rest.
That day, she was practicing walking, with Shirley by her side, when the door to the ward suddenly opened.
The two looked up to see Jessica walking in.
Shirley frowned, "What are you doing here?"
Jessica was dressed in the latest luxury brand of the season, her long curly hair draped over her shoulders, and her makeup was exquisite. A slight smile appeared on Mary's face as she lay in her hospital gown, looking weak.
"I'm here to see Ms. Smith."
Shirley said directly, "You're not welcome here, so you can leave."
Recently, the news of Matthew and Jessica getting married had been spreading like wildfire. Although there hadn't been any substantial progress, rumors are like that; the longer they spread, the more people believe them.
Moreover, Matthew and Mary were not divorced.
At this time, it was very annoying that such rumors were spreading everywhere.
Jessica glanced at Shirley with displeasure, then looked at Mary and said, "How is your recovery going, Ms. Smith?"
Cold sweat appeared on Mary's forehead. She forced herself to sit back on the bed, took a sip of water, and then said, "Just so-so. Does Ms. Johnson have something to say?"
Jessica said, "I'm here to visit you and to give you an invitation. Matthew and I are getting engaged."
She took an invitation out of her bag and handed it to Mary.
Mary looked at her calmly and then asked, "When?"
Jessica said, "It's all written in the invitation. You must come."
Mary took the invitation, opened it, glanced at it, and said, "The 15th of next month, not a bad date."
Shirley sneered from the side, "Isn't it too early to send out invitations now? Does Matthew know about this?"
Jessica said, "Of course, Matthew knows."
Shirley said, "Ms. Johnson, don't you feel guilty lying? Matthew and Mary haven't even divorced, and you're getting engaged to him? What, is this how casually you rich people treat marriage?"
Jessica's grip on her bag tightened, and she said, "Their divorce is only a matter of time. My engagement to Matthew is an unchangeable reality. Ms. Hill, I advise you to show me some respect, or else..."
"Or else what?" Shirley looked at her disdainfully, "You have status and position, how can you be so eager to be a mistress? Do your family members know what you're doing?"
"You!" Jessica didn't expect Shirley to be so sharp-tongued.
She looked at Mary, who remained calm, but to her, it seemed like Mary was laughing at her!
She snorted coldly and turned to leave.
Once out of the ward, her face quickly turned ugly!
They really hadn't divorced!
Why hadn't they divorced?
Hadn't they already gone to court?
They had even announced to everyone that they were divorced!
Jessica came today to confirm this!
She certainly wouldn't be a mistress!
Matthew must divorce Mary!
She left the hospital angrily and took out her phone to make a call.
"Mrs. Montagu, what's going on? Why haven't Matthew and Mary divorced?"
Linda was stunned when she heard the news, "They haven't divorced?"
