Chapter 389 Sue Me
"Stop her," Matthew shot a cold look at Shirley and ordered the bodyguards next to him.
The two bodyguards immediately stepped up, grabbed Shirley, and snatched her phone.
Seeing this, Shirley struggled. "What the hell are you doing? Matthew, you jerk! Let me go!"
One of the bodyguards handed the phone to Matthew with respect.
Matthew took the phone, deleted the videos and photos Shirley had taken, and then tossed it back to the bodyguard.
Mary walked over to Shirley and glared at the bodyguards. "Let her go!"
The bodyguards knew who Mary was, but they were following Matthew's orders, so they hesitated and looked at him.
Mary turned to Matthew and asked coldly, "Did you bring me back just to be a trophy wife with no say?"
The tension in the clothing store was palpable.
Matthew's icy gaze landed on her, and he waved his hand.
The bodyguards immediately let go of Shirley.
As soon as she was free, Shirley lunged at Matthew. "You bastard, you..."
"Shirley!" Mary shouted, raising her voice.
Shirley calmed down after being yelled at. She realized who she was dealing with and started to feel uneasy.
Matthew was not someone to mess with!
"Apologize to my company's spokesperson," Matthew said coldly to Shirley.
"Why should I apologize? If anyone should apologize, it's you and your mistress!" Shirley snapped back.
Matthew's face darkened. "Looks like you need to apologize to me too. Insult, slander, invasion of privacy, personal attack—I can sue you for all of it."
Shirley was about to lose it! She wanted to rip Matthew's face off!
Mary quickly intervened. "Shirley, calm down. Do you really want to get sued?"
Shirley's hands were shaking with anger, but she held back.
Mary looked at Matthew, her gaze shifting to Chloe hiding behind him.
"We're not apologizing. She provoked me first. I know you have the power to control this, but if this gets out online, it won't be good for you or Ms. Jackson," Mary stated calmly.
Matthew's eyes darkened as he looked at her calm demeanor. "So, you're not planning to have her apologize?"
"Shirley was defending me. She did nothing wrong. Why should she apologize?" Mary said, feeling a bit of irony.
Shirley was her friend, always defending her, while Matthew, her husband, always made things difficult for her.
Matthew looked at her deeply. "Fine, wait for the court summons."
"Matthew!" Mary took a couple of steps forward, her eyes showing a blend of emotion as she looked at him.
Matthew looked at her coolly. "What?"
Mary couldn't let Shirley be sued.
She bit her lip and said, "I'll apologize to Ms. Jackson on her behalf, okay?"
Matthew sneered, "You and her, totally different leagues. You apologize on her behalf? Is she worthy?"
He wasn't going to accept it!
Mary's fingers curled up as she looked at Matthew's cold and charming face. The atmosphere was thick with tension.
