Chapter 622 Enveloping Her in His Arms
Mary's gaze shifted from Matthew to the computer on the table.
She simply walked over, sat in the chair, and started scrolling with the mouse, watching intently.
The reference images were all about the evolution of modern American villa architecture.
Due to the incorporation of foreign elements, many villa designs now have a touch of various international styles.
Matthew didn't like those elements, so he had to slowly adjust them.
Mary was so focused that she didn't notice Matthew had already walked up behind her. He suddenly leaned down, placing his hands on the table, encircling her in his arms.
"I think this one is okay." His gaze fell on the computer screen, and he said in a low voice.
Mary's body stiffened. She turned her head slightly to avoid his breath and frowned, saying, "If you want to talk, just talk. Don't stand so close to me."
Matthew glanced at her, his eyes dark and deep, with a hint of unusual emotion.
"Too far, and I'm afraid you won't hear me."
Mary turned her face away helplessly, her gaze falling on the computer screen. "If you like it, your villa can be designed in a garden style. It's very beautiful."
Matthew asked, "Do you like garden style?"
Mary nodded, "Yes, I do. Rockeries and flowing water, a pleasant environment, and you can enjoy different sceneries without leaving home."
Matthew stared at her deeply, "Then let's design it that way."
Mary's eyelids twitched, and she tightened her grip on the mouse, saying, "Aren't you going to ask the future lady of the house for her opinion?"
She mused, 'Does Jessica like garden-style design? What if she doesn't like it after it's designed? I would have to redo the drawings, which would be too troublesome. It's better to unify opinions now to avoid having to overturn and redesign later.'
Matthew straightened up, his refreshing scent moving away from Mary. He stared at her back and said in a deep voice, "It's my house, and I make the decisions."
Mary's tense body relaxed slightly, and she nodded, "Okay, I understand."
She stood up, "Anything else?"
Matthew said, "Not for now."
Mary replied, "Then I'll head back. If you have any ideas, feel free to contact me."
Her attitude was calm, as if she really considered him just a client.
This feeling was novel.
It was also an experience they had never had before.
Matthew stared deeply at her back and suddenly said, "I might have ideas at any time. Keep your phone on."
Mary had a bad premonition, feeling that the days ahead might not be peaceful.
"Got it." She responded without much emotion.
As she reached the door and was about to close it, she suddenly stopped, hesitated for a moment, and still asked, "Matthew, since you're getting married, my affairs are none of your business."
Matthew chuckled, "I thought you would never ask."
Mary said, "You're like a sword hanging over my head. Of course, I have to ask."
Moreover, it was really difficult for her to find the right time, like when he was in a good mood.
Matthew sat on the sofa and said indifferently, "No."
Mary frowned, "If you do this, your future wife will target me."
"So what?" Matthew raised an eyebrow, looking at her with a smirk, "Once she's my wife, I can do whatever I want."
