Chapter 572 Don't Touch Her

Matthew glanced at her and pressed a button for a certain floor.

Seeing this, Mary paused and asked, "Where are we going?"

Matthew said coldly in a low voice, "To get you checked."

Mary's expression immediately turned sour. "I'm not sick, I'm not going."

Matthew looked at her. "We're already at the hospital. Do you think you can avoid it?"

Mary's expression turned even more unpleasant.

The floor arrived quickly, and as the elevator doors opened, Matthew grabbed her hand without a word and headed straight to the doctor's office.

This was a hospital under the Montagu Group, and the doctors all knew Matthew. When they saw him, they respectfully greeted him as Mr. Montagu.

Pushing open an office door, a bespectacled doctor was in the middle of a consultation.

Their sudden intrusion startled the patient.

The doctor glanced at Matthew and said with displeasure, "Can't you see I'm in the middle of a consultation? Couldn't you have told the nurse at the door?"

Mary was surprised that someone would dare speak to Matthew like that. It seemed he had a good relationship with Matthew.

Matthew pulled up a chair and sat down, saying calmly, "I'm not interrupting your work."

The doctor replied, "But by being here, you are interrupting my work."

Matthew let out a light scoff. "Well, the patient is leaving now, so you can help me."

The doctor fell silent.

The patient got up and left.

The doctor glanced at Mary, squinting his eyes behind his glasses, and asked, "And who is this?"

Matthew said, "My wife, Mary."

The doctor looked at Mary in surprise, then said, "Hello, I'm Anthony Brown."

Mary nodded slightly. "Hello, I'm Mary, not his wife. We are divorced."

Matthew glanced at her but said nothing.

Anthony smiled. "So, why are you here?"

Matthew pointed at Mary and said, "She has psychological issues. Whenever I touch her, she says it hurts."

Mary remained silent.

She glared at Matthew, wishing she could slap him!

Didn't he know why she was like this?

Anthony raised an eyebrow at this, then said, "You're very rough with her."

Matthew said nothing, and his expression was also unchanged.

Anthony said, "If you don't mind, can I speak with Ms. Smith alone?"

"Are you kidding?" Matthew's gaze instantly turned grim. "Let her talk about this alone with a male doctor?"

Anthony pushed his glasses up and said, "As you said, I'm a doctor. To a doctor, patients are gender-neutral."

"Bullshit."

Matthew said bluntly, "Just examine her here."

Anthony fell silent.

He looked at Mary with some sympathy and said, "To have married him and lived with him for so long, you must be a warrior."

Mary, "Thanks for the compliment, but I don't want to be this warrior."

Matthew's expression darkened a bit more.

Anthony sighed helplessly and said, "I don't know the specifics, but I suspect she has a psychological stress response to your touch. Her brain signals her body to feel pain. The only solution is for you to stop touching her."

Matthew, "Take that back and say it again."

Anthony fell silent.

He took off his glasses and pinched the bridge of his nose.
