Chapter 802 Who Saw It?
Everyone turned in shock to see who had stepped in.
The man wore a dark gray overcoat over a black suit, his tie perfectly knotted. The sharp lines of his shoulders made him look even broader and powerful.
His handsome, devilish face was tinged with coldness, and his narrow eyes seemed to hold a frosty chill that cut to the bone.
"Who saw me kick you?" Matthew spoke in a low, magnetic voice, casual yet stirring everyone's heart.
The middle-aged man pointed around the room. "All these people saw it, and you still wanna deny it?"
"What am I here for?"
"I need to grab some water."
"I haven't finished my notes, gotta do that first."
"I haven't done my rounds yet."
"Wait for me, let's go together."
In less than a minute, the crowd scattered as if they hadn't seen a thing.
In the blink of an eye, only Matthew, Mary, Nora, and the middle-aged couple remained in the hallway.
Mary's mouth twitched slightly as she looked at Nora and asked, "Does it still hurt?"
Nora shook her head blankly. "Nah, it doesn't hurt anymore."
"You all..."
The middle-aged man was stunned, his face twisted with anger as he looked at Matthew, who clearly wasn't just any guy.
"You're just throwing your weight around, huh? Even if these people are scared of you and pretend not to see, there are cameras here. The footage has everything you did. Either cough up a million bucks or get ready for jail!"
The man looked fierce.
Just then, a nurse behind the reception desk suddenly said, "Why's the surveillance down? We need to call someone to fix it."
Matthew raised an eyebrow slightly, looking at the man. "No cameras, no witnesses. I could accuse you of extortion and blackmail, which could get you detained for over fifteen days. Should I call the cops?"
"This is outrageous!"
The middle-aged woman, seeing the $1.5 million slipping away, was so angry she could almost spit blood!
But they were just ordinary folks, and against someone of Matthew's stature, they had no room to fight back.
Glaring at Nora with resentment, the middle-aged couple slunk away.
Mary gently patted Nora's shoulder, saying, "Don't worry, they're gone."
Nora's eyes welled up with tears. "Mary, thank you. I wouldn't know what to do without you."
Mary smiled softly. "I'll arrange for you to transfer to another hospital so they can't find you. It's best not to see them until you're healed."
Nora looked at Mary with gratitude, feeling incredibly lucky to have met her.
Matthew's cool voice cut in, "I didn't realize you had become such a philanthropist."
Nora immediately glanced at Matthew, and her heart skipped a beat at his handsome, devilish face. She quickly averted her gaze, hiding timidly behind Mary.
Mary frowned and said, "Didn't you hear? I bumped into her, causing her arm to break. Of course, I have to take responsibility."
Nora whispered, "No, I bumped into you. It's not your fault."
Mary replied, "At this point, it doesn't matter who bumped into whom. The most important thing now is the transfer."
