Chapter 425 Is This the Feeling of Falling in Love?

She brushed off Shirley and turned to the boy, asking, "Who are you?"

Sean looked a bit surprised, then scratched his head. "You don't remember me? No worries, I'm just a waiter here. If you need anything, just holler."

He didn't mention that he had saved Mary before.

Mary stared at Sean, thinking he looked oddly familiar.

But Sean had already walked away.

Shirley, standing next to her, said, "He seemed so bummed out. Something must've happened between you two, Mary. Seriously, you don't remember him?"

Mary sighed. "Watch what you're saying. I don't know him at all."

Shirley shook her head. "I don't buy it. Otherwise, he wouldn't have looked at you like a sad puppy."

Mary fell silent.

How did Shirley even notice that Sean's eyes were sad and pitiful?

"Come on, I've already set up a meet. Let's go check out those college guys. Maybe that cute one is among them." Shirley tugged her towards the private room.

Mary and Shirley walked into the private room.

Sitting on the sofa, Mary asked, "So, can you spill the beans now?"

Shirley replied, "I got a new gig. I studied interior design in college, so I joined an interior design studio as a designer. Guess what? On my first day, my first client was Herman!"

Mary said, "What's wrong with him giving you business?"

Shirley responded, "You don't know how picky he is. I wanted to say no, but my boss told me that if I could land Herman's project, I'd get a promotion right away."

After a pause, she continued. "That's a lot of cash. Who would turn down money? I hesitated for a bit and then agreed."

Mary went quiet again.

Seeing Shirley's pained expression, Mary knew that Herman must have made a ton of unreasonable demands.

Mary suggested, "Maybe you should think about switching to another studio. Since you can design, why not start your own studio? I'll invest and be the major shareholder."

Shirley slapped her thigh. "Why didn't I think of that? But unfortunately, I've already signed the contract. If I break it, I'll have to pay a penalty."

Mary went quiet once more.

Shirley waved her hand. "Forget it. Let's check out those guys."

She used the phone in the private room, said a few words, and then said, "They'll be here soon."

Mary quietly nibbled on some fruit.

In less than ten minutes, the door to the private room swung open, and a group of college guys walked in.

They lined up in front of them, each with a different vibe.

"Hey, check out that hottie!" Shirley leaned close to Mary, pointing at Sean, who was standing in the middle.

Mary instinctively looked over and locked eyes with Sean's smiling face.

Sean had a clean and handsome look, with softer features that made him seem approachable.

Shirley whispered in her ear, "So, do you feel your heart fluttering?"

Mary didn't say anything. The corners of her mouth twitched in exasperation.

However, in the dim light of the private room, some memories came flooding back. When Felix and his buddies were forcing her to drink, wasn't it Sean who came in and saved her?
