Chapter 749 Mary Is the Daughter of the Cooper Family
Matthew held Mary tightly, feeling her sadness deeply.
"You'll see them. If they let you down, then you don't need them," he whispered.
Mary closed her eyes for a moment before saying, "Let me go. I need to take a walk."
Matthew released her, watching as her emotions settled, and he sighed in relief.
Lindenville was small; a short walk brought her to the end of the street, where open fields stretched out. Mary stood by the roadside, letting the cold wind blow over her.
Matthew watched her from a distance. Just then, his phone rang, and he answered it.
South said, "Mr. Montagu, I've found out that the bodyguards were sent by Rebecca from the Cooper family. Rebecca used to be at the Lindenville orphanage. Over the years, Barbara and Rebecca have kept in touch. For the past few months, Barbara has been staying at a house under Rebecca's name."
Barbara had said someone had taken Mary's identity.
She also said Mary's parents were wealthy.
Matthew replied, "Leak the information that Rebecca isn't the Cooper family's biological daughter to the Coopers. Let's see how they react."
It was now clear.
Mary was the Cooper family's daughter.
But Matthew wasn't ready to tell Mary yet. He needed to see the Cooper family's reaction first.
If they insisted on keeping Rebecca, then there was no need for a reunion.
Mary turned back and walked towards the car. Seeing him on the phone, she didn't approach and instead headed towards the vehicle.
South acknowledged and hung up.

At the Cooper Villa in Diamond Ridge.
Dione Saunders was having tea and chatting with a few wealthy ladies, planning a card game.
Her phone rang suddenly. Seeing it was her assistant, she smiled at the ladies and said, "You all chat, I'll take this call."
She walked to a secluded garden room and answered, "What's the matter?"
The assistant replied, "Mrs. Cooper, I intercepted a message saying Ms. Cooper isn't the Cooper family's biological daughter. What should we do about this?"
Dione's brows furrowed immediately. "Is someone investigating?"
The assistant replied, "It seems so."
Dione asked, "Have you found Barbara?"
The assistant said, "Not yet. Matthew Montagu, the CEO of the Montagu Group in Lindwood City, has gotten involved. Our people can't get into the orphanage."
Dione narrowed her eyes. "Then find a way to get in. Create some chaos. Barbara must not say anything."
The assistant responded, "Understood."
Dione added, "Inform Rebecca. She needs to come up with a plan, too."
"Yes."
The call ended.
Dione gripped her phone, a malicious glint in her eyes.
'That woman's daughter wants to find her parents? No way!'
Rebecca had already arrived in Lindenville. After receiving the call, her face turned grim.
Matthew was involved!
Could she still keep her identity?
No way!
She was the Cooper family's daughter. She had been their daughter for so many years. She wouldn't give it up!
Mary didn't deserve to take her things at all. She needed to find a way to get rid of Mary quickly.
Just then, there was a knock on her door.
"Who is it?" Rebecca asked, walking to the door.
"I can help you deal with Mary," The person at the door said.
