Chapter 31 Squinting Eyes

"Huh?"

Shirley saw Mary getting up and shaking. She squinted her eyes and watched as Mary walked towards the handsome gray-haired man. A smile immediately appeared on her face.

She thought to herself, 'Good, very good! Ditch the douchebag and start a new life!

Robert Williams held his headphones to his ears with one hand, adjusting the music with the other. His demeanor was devilish and charming, enchanting everyone around him when he smiled. Many girls were screaming as they watched him.

Mary pushed through the crowd and approached him directly, "Hey sunshine, care for a drink?"

Robert, with one hand on his headphones, didn't quite hear Mary. He just lowered his eyes and continued to control the music casually.

Mary's cheeks flushed, and she suddenly reached out, snatching the headphones away and placing them aside. "Hey, I'm talking to you!"

The music was deafening, but the atmosphere around them instantly fell deathly quiet.

Everyone turned to Mary.

Robert did, too.

No one dared to take something from his hands! He looked displeased at Mary. He asked, "What did you say?"

Mary made a drinking gesture. "Care to have a drink with me?"

Robert smiled, but his gaze turned a bit colder. "Sure."

He agreed! Upon hearing Robert's response, people around them widened their eyes in surprise!

Many in this line of work knew of Robert's reputation. The more he smiled, the more mischievous he played! Whoever provoked him would definitely have a hard time!

Mary, unaware of the danger, smiled at him. "Come on, I have drinks over here..."

Not far away, Shirley had been observing the situation. When she saw Robert coming down from the stage with Mary, she immediately widened her eyes, took out her phone, snapped a picture of them, and posted it on Instagram.

Shirley: [Plenty of fish in the sea.] The picture showed Robert and Mary walking side by side.

Hmph. She and Matthew followed each other on social media. He would definitely see the picture she posted!

She wanted Matthew to see that Mary wasn't all about him! He thought he was so great just because he was a scion of the Montagu family? Who cared?

At the hospital, Matthew accompanied Laura for her check-up, which revealed that her old injury was causing the pain. She needed to keep warm and avoid intense physical activities.

Laura looked apologetic. "I'm really sorry for troubling you when there's nothing serious. I didn't expect my leg to hurt so much today."

Matthew asked, "Can you walk?"

Laura nodded. "Yes."

With a hint of admiration in her eyes, she looked at him.

"Matthew, why don't you come to my place? I'll cook for you. My cooking is still as good as before." Laura suggested.

At these words, Matthew paused. He remembered Mary calling him, saying she was waiting for him at the courthouse.

For some reason, he felt a sudden annoyance deep inside.

"Matthew?" Seeing him silent, Laura asked in confusion.

"Okay." Matthew agreed directly and headed out of the hospital.

Upon hearing this, Laura smiled happily and, ignoring the pain in her leg, quickly followed him.

Once he was in the car, Matthew checked his phone messages. The screen lit up, showing the Instagram interface, and Shirley's photo immediately caught his eye.

Despite the dim lighting in the photo, he instantly recognized the woman in it as Mary!

Matthew wondered inwardly, 'Huh! Did she actually go to a bar? Was she so eager to look for a new boyfriend, even though they were getting divorced?'
