Chapter 691 The First Time I Saw You, I Felt Very Familiar

Matthew's voice turned cold. "If you don't fire him, you can kiss your studio goodbye."

Maria, unfazed, shot back, "Fine, if I lose my studio, Mary will lose her job too. Then she'll find out about us, and she'll never forgive you."

Matthew was stunned into silence.

His once compliant subordinate had become independent and defiant.

Maria smirked. "Mr. Montagu, Sean is really talented, but don't worry. I've taken a liking to him."

That seemed to ease Matthew's mind a bit.

Indeed, his expression softened considerably.

Without another word, he hung up. Maria looked at her phone, unable to suppress a smile. She glanced out of her office and saw Sean diligently working on his drawings.

Mary drove back to Maple Grove Manor and, sure enough, saw the man standing at the entrance of the neighborhood.

Shirley was inside the neighborhood, arms crossed. When she saw Mary's car, she ran over.

Mary parked and got out. "When did you see him?"

Shirley replied, "I saw him when I went downstairs to buy snacks. He's been standing there the whole time. I even went over to say hi, but he didn't recognize me."

Mary looked at her. "He probably didn't know you to begin with, right?"

Shirley chuckled. "Yeah, I guess so. But looking at him, he reminds me of the first time I met that jerk Matthew."

Hadn't he lost his memory?

Mary thought back to when he woke up in the hospital, looking so confused, like he had really lost his memory.

Later, when the police questioned him about his identity, he couldn't answer any of their questions.

Mary walked over and greeted him.

The man looked up at the sound of her voice. When he saw her, his eyes lit up!

"This feels so familiar," Shirley whispered beside her.

Mary studied the man's condition, frowning slightly. "Why are you here?"

The man shook his head. "I don't know. I was walking and ended up here."

Mary asked, "What's your name?"

The man shook his head. "I don't remember."

He really had amnesia.

But what did that have to do with her?

Mary asked, "What about the police? Didn't they find your family?"

The man said, "The police said I don't have any family."

Mary fell silent.

This was getting complicated.

But it wouldn't have solved anything to leave him here.

Mary said, "I'll take you to the police station. They can help you find your family."

The man looked at her with pleading eyes. "Can you take me in?"

Mary replied, "Sorry, that's not convenient."

The man looked confused. "Why not?"

Mary said, "I don't know you."

The man insisted, "But I felt like I knew you the moment I saw you."

Shirley laughed, nudging Mary's arm. "Looks like he's planning to stick to you. But Mary, are you sure you don't want to take him in? He's handsome."

Mary gave her an exasperated look. "Don't I have enough on my plate already?"

Shirley giggled. "Life's boring. Add a little excitement."

Mary's gaze returned to the man's face. He was indeed handsome, even rivaling Matthew.

In some ways, they even looked a bit alike.
