Chapter 70 Come Stay at the Montagu Mansion With me
Jessica felt that it was simply a small punishment!
"Nonsense!" Enrique's face darkened. "You are grounded!"
After saying that, he hurriedly turned and went to the study.
Back at the hotel, Mary started packing her things. Obviously, there wasn't much; everything was bought after she came here.
She bought a small bag and packed everything into it.
When she came out, she happened to see a middle-aged man walk in.
Sam followed behind, giving her a cold glance.
Mary subconsciously took a step back.
She pondered, 'Why was Sam always glaring at her?'
When Matthew saw that she had finished packing, he walked over and said, "Wait a moment, we'll go back together."
Mary blinked. "Go back and then..."
But Matthew suddenly covered her mouth and said, "Wait for me."
With that, he turned and entered the study, and the middle-aged man also followed him in.
Frowning, Mary thought, 'why didn't he let her finish?'
Sam stood at the door of the study, giving her another cold glance.
Mary glared back, thinking that if Sam kept glaring at her, she would go over and pluck out his eyeballs!
Back in her room, Mary's expression gradually faded.
The man who had just entered the study was the leader of the Johnson family and also the president of the Chamber of Commerce in Emerald Isle City .
He had come personally. Could this incident be related to him?
As Mary contemplated this, her phone rang, which turned out to be a strange call. She wasn't planning to answer it, but eventually answered, thinking it might be someone from work since she had been on leave for many days.
"Hello?"
There was initially no sound on the other end.
Confused, Mary checked her phone, confirming that the call was connected.
"Hello?" Mary asked again.
"Yes, hello."
A chillingly rough and tearing voice came through the phone, sending a shiver up Mary's spine and draining color from her face!
She immediately hung up, her heart pounding!
The voice was too terrifying!
It didn't sound like something a normal person could produce, giving her a chilling sensation!
She wondered, 'Was that a prank?'
She picked the number and promptly blocked it!
No strange calls ever!
When the night fell, there was a knock on Mary's room door, startling her awake. She looked towards the door, still a bit shaken.
"Who is it?" Mary asked warily.
"It's me." Matthew's deep, magnetic voice came through, and he opened the door, turning on the light to see her pale face.
A hint of concern flickered in his eyes, unnoticed even by himself, as he quickly approached her and asked, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
"No," Mary shook her head, then said, "I had a nightmare."
She had fallen asleep in a daze and had heard that terrifying and eerie voice in her dream.
"Ready to go?" she asked.
"Yes," Matthew replied, then asked, "Are you hungry? Do you want to eat before we leave?"
"No need, let's go," Mary didn't want to linger there any longer.
"Okay." Matthew nodded.
They left the hotel together, but Sam was no longer there.
The plane landed in the middle of the night.
Mary turned to him, "Matthew, could you give me a ride?"
But Matthew calmly said, "Come stay at the Montagu Mansion with me, or take a cab back on your own."
