Chapter 509 He Was Late
Matthew reached out and tore the tape off her mouth.
Mary cried out in pain and said, "Matthew, I've thought it over. I agree with what you said."
Matthew raised an eyebrow in surprise and asked, "Why did you suddenly decide?"
Mary pursed her lips, about to say something when a voice called out from afar.
"Can you guys stop chatting there? The tide is coming in!"
Mary's expression changed, and she said, "Let's get out of here first."
Matthew had already taken strides, carrying her towards the shore.
As soon as he put her in the car, Shirley rushed over, hugged her tightly, and cried, "Mary, you scared me! I thought I'd never see you again!"
Mary was pushed back a bit, coughed lightly, and said, "Don't worry; I'm fine."
In a chilling tone, Herman warned, "If you keep pressing on her like that, you might never see her again."
After saying that, he frowned and thought, 'Why was I talking to her? '
Shirley didn't care about Herman. She quickly let go of Mary, sobbing, "I'm sorry. Let me untie you first. The Montagu family has no good people. I thought you'd be free after divorcing Matthew, but now there's a Victoria. What do they want? Do they have to drive you to death to be satisfied?"
As soon as she finished speaking, a chill swept over.
Shirley shivered, glanced at Matthew, and defiantly raised her chin, "What's the matter?"
Matthew suddenly grabbed her by the collar and pulled her aside, then got into the car.
Shirley widened her eyes, "What are you doing? I still have things to say to Mary! You jerk, open the door!"
She banged on the door, but the people inside were unmoved.
They even started the car. If Herman hadn't pulled her away quickly, the wheels would have run over her foot!
"Matthew, don't run!"
Shirley rolled up her sleeves, ready to fight Matthew!
Herman said coolly, "He's sitting there."
Shirley suddenly turned her head and glared at Herman, "Why did you pull me? How dare he run over my foot?"
Herman frowned, "Shirley, I know you're worried about Mary, but can you stop attacking everyone? I didn't provoke you!"
In fact, the whole night, he had been on edge, afraid that Matthew would take his anger out on Shirley!
Shirley sneered, "You're friends with Matthew. Both of you are jerks!"
With that, she turned and walked away.
Herman's face turned completely dark.
What an ungrateful woman!
On the other side.
Robert sat in the car, taking in the whole scene. His hand gripped the steering wheel tightly.
After receiving Shirley's message, he rushed over but was still too late.
Matthew had rescued Mary.
If he had arrived first, would the outcome have been different?
Robert's face was hidden in the darkness. He took out his phone and dialed a number.
