Chapter 569 Critically Ill
Mary looked at him with cold eyes, "It's much better than your reasons for getting close to me."
"You're wrong."
Matthew looked at her with amusement, "I got close to you because I wanted to possess you, but if he gets close to you, the consequences might be unbearable for you."
Mary pressed her lips together and said nothing.
She could still tell who was good to her and who wasn't.
How could she conclude that Robert had ulterior motives based on a few words from Matthew?
Besides, there was nothing Robert could scheme for.
Mary pushed him away, "I have to go to work."
Matthew closed the door with his hand and said coldly, "Go to the hospital first, you're sick and need treatment."
Mary glared at him, "You're the one who's sick!"
Matthew said, "Aren't you well aware of how healthy I am?"
She fell silent, not wanting to continue the conversation with him.
Matthew was very adamant about taking her to the hospital.
Mary was very resistant, but Matthew's phone suddenly rang when they got downstairs, and he answered it.
The person on the other end said, "Mr. Montagu, Mrs. Montagu isn't doing well, you should come and see her!"
Matthew said coldly, "If she isn't doing well, take her to the hospital, I'm not a doctor."
The other person was very anxious, "This time it's serious, Mr. Montagu, Mrs. Montagu is your grandmother, you have to go see her!"
Matthew frowned, looked back at Mary, and said, "Alright."
After hanging up, he took her hand and said, "We don't have to see the doctor, but you have to come with me somewhere."
Mary felt baffled, "Where?"
Matthew said, "You'll know when we get there."
Mary was still very resistant, but compared to seeing a doctor, she eventually stopped struggling.
The car quickly arrived at the hospital.
Victoria had returned to the hospital again.
Mary was very puzzled, following Matthew to the VIP ward, and when they opened a room door, they saw Richard and Linda were there.
Laura was sitting by the bed, holding Victoria's hand. Her face was full of tears, and she looked very sad.
Victoria's complexion was very poor, and she was very thin.
Hearing the commotion, everyone turned to look. When Richard saw Mary, he immediately furrowed, "Matthew, you could have come alone, why did you bring Mary?"
Matthew said coldly, "Why can't I bring her?"
Richard's expression darkened; he could never stay calm when facing Matthew.
Matthew said, "I want to remarry her."
"What?"
Laura exclaimed, "How can you remarry? Grandma Montagu won't agree!"
Matthew sneered, "It's me who wants to remarry, not Grandma. What does her agreement have to do with me?"
Victoria on the bed opened her eyes, looked at Matthew, and said very weakly, "Matthew, do you want me to die without peace?"
Matthew looked at her, his expression softened slightly, "Grandma, at your age, you should be enjoying your life. It's not good for your health to meddle in young people's affairs."
His words were very respectful, but the meaning was clear: didn't use death as a threat, he didn't care at all.
Victoria started coughing violently again, "How can I face Samuel like this? If he knew you turned out this way, he would be very disappointed. He loved you the most!"
