"How about giving him a tie?" Shirley looked at the row of ties hanging on the wall, her eyes sparkling as she glanced at Mary.
Mary said, "Wouldn't that be a bit inappropriate?"
Shirley replied, "It doesn't matter. You're both single, and besides, a tie is just an accessory, nothing too significant."
Mary still felt it wasn't quite right.
She glanced around the store, which was considered a high-end brand, with shirts starting at $10,000.
Mary walked over to the shirts, picked one out after a while, and then took down a white shirt, saying, "How about this one?"
Shirley looked over and nodded, "That works too, but Robert doesn't seem to like these kinds of clothes. His style is more casual."
It was rare to see him in business suits.
Mary smiled, "That's exactly why I'm giving it to him."

Hearing this, Matthew smirked as he glanced at Michael, "You'll get a bonus this month."
Michael's eyes widened slightly. Just for answering a question correctly, he gets a bonus?

Matthew continued to watch for a while until Mary and Shirley left, then he looked away.
His phone rang at that moment, and he took it out to answer.
Herman asked, "So, how are you planning to spend your birthday this year? You were missing before, and no one could celebrate with you. This time, you have to do it right."
Matthew said indifferently, "Whatever."
Herman replied, "Alright, then I'll just make some casual arrangements."
Matthew responded, and Herman, sensing something was off, asked, "What good thing happened? You seem happy."

Matthew said, "This engagement was arranged long ago. It's only a matter of time."
Herman sighed, "I'll delay it as long as I can."
Matthew didn't say anything further and then hung up the phone.
Robert's birthday was three days later.
Mary received the news and found out the location of the birthday party, so she changed into a dress and went straight there.
The birthday party was held at No. 9 Club. Mary walked in and took the elevator.
Unexpectedly, she ran into someone she knew.
Herman looked at the bag in her hand and smiled, "A birthday gift?"
