Chapter 159 Is He Nuts?

"No," Matthew muttered weakly with his eyes closed. "I don't want to see her, but she's still my wife. If she's arrested, it won't look good for the Montagu family."

Richard snorted, "She almost killed you, and you're still worried about her."

Linda added, "Matthew, maybe there's a misunderstanding. I don't think Mary could do that."

Matthew didn't say more, but his stance was clear.

Mary clenched her fists, staring at Matthew. After a deep breath, she said, "I didn't poison you, Matthew. If you realize you were wrong later, don't bother coming for forgiveness!" Then she walked away.

Matthew's hands balled into fists under the blanket.

Just then, Laura walked in and saw Mary leaving, looking pale. Confused, she asked, "What happened?"

Linda sighed, "Matthew said Mary poisoned him."

Laura's eyes widened, "How is that possible?"

Richard said, "Matthew, once you're better, you should divorce her and marry Laura. It's time for you to have a baby and a peaceful life."

Laura's eyes flickered. "Uncle Richard, Matthew's still weak. Let's talk about this later."

Matthew said, "I need some privacy."

Richard replied, "Alright, we'll leave and come back later." He and Linda left the hospital.

Laura sat by the bed. "Matthew..."

"You should leave too," Matthew cut her off.

Laura bit her lip, stood up, and said, "Okay, I'll come back later."

One by one, they left, leaving only Matthew and Herman in the room.

"Matthew, are you serious?" Herman asked, looking conflicted.

Matthew replied, "I got poisoned after eating her cooking. Who else could it be?"

Herman frowned. "I suspect her too, but you can't say it out loud. She looked like she might collapse."

Matthew said in a deep voice, "I need a favor..."

Shirley had been holding Cindy back. Soon, Mary emerged, looking extremely pale, like she might collapse.

Shirley was shocked and rushed to support her. "Mary, what's wrong?"

Mary said, "Let's go..."

Shirley wanted to ask more but held back, seeing Mary's condition. She helped Mary leave.

Cindy crossed her arms, a smug smile on her face. "She deserves it."

Shirley glared at Cindy. Mary was clearly unwell; otherwise, she would've snapped back at Cindy, whose mouth was just too vile!

In the taxi, Mary, pale-faced, stared blankly out the window.

Shirley was very worried. "Mary, what happened?"

Mary's eyelashes trembled, tears falling, but she remained expressionless. "He believes I poisoned him."

Shirley's eyes widened. "What? How could he think that? Is he nuts?"
