Chapter 673 The Knife Across Her Neck

Mary wanted to pull over, but the guy in the backseat seemed to sense her intention. His voice was rough as he threatened, "If you stop this car, I'll kill you. I don't care about living anymore!"

Terrified, Mary kept driving, not daring to stop.

He might not care about living, but she sure did!

Her voice shook as she asked, "What do you want?"

The man didn't answer. Instead, he kept the knife pressed against her neck. To make his point, he made a shallow cut on her skin, just enough to draw blood.

Mary felt a sudden chill on her neck, followed by a burning pain. Her brows furrowed in fear, and she remained silent.

This guy was serious. He could really kill her.

Who was he?

Why had he kidnapped her?

The car sped down the road, quickly leaving the city and arriving at the location the man had specified.

It was an abandoned factory, clearly neglected for years. The dilapidated building swayed in the autumn wind, and the walls bore the marks of a past fire.

Mary looked at the place, her brows furrowing slightly.

It seemed familiar.

"Stop the car!" The man finally spoke.

Mary hit the brakes, stopping the car. The man got out, opened the driver's door, and pressed the knife against her.

"Get out!"

Mary didn't dare resist. She unbuckled her seatbelt and obediently got out of the car.

She saw the man's eyes.

Roy—the very man who had made several attempts on her life!

His hatred for her was inexplicable.

She couldn't believe he had reappeared after all this time, sneaking into her car.

Mary's face turned even paler, because Roy was truly capable of killing her.

"Recognize me?"

Roy saw the shock on her face and smirked. He then removed his mask, revealing a sinister face.

Mary's eyelashes trembled uncontrollably as she asked, "Why do you want to kill me?"

Roy shoved her, "Get inside!"

Mary stumbled but didn't dare run. She feared that resisting would only anger him.

Inside the dilapidated factory, the marks of the fire were even more evident.

Roy kept the knife pressed against her. "Now that you're here, don't you remember?"

His gaze was venomous, like a poisonous snake.

Mary felt a chill throughout her body. She moved her lips, looking around carefully, and some vague memories seemed to flash in her mind.

Fire.

A massive fire.

It engulfed everything, as if it wanted to burn everything to ashes.

That was the world she saw as a child.

It was also a blurry memory from her past.

But why did she remember this place burning?

Mary wanted to speak, but looking at Roy's sinister face, she couldn't find the words.

Roy slapped her hard across the face.

"You don't remember! You forgot, you bitch! If you hadn't called the cops back then, I wouldn't have gone to jail! I would have taken a billion dollars and left Lindwood City. It's all because of you, all because of you!"

Roy lost control, punching and kicking Mary.

Mary curled up, protecting her head. As she listened to his words, a sudden realization hit her.

Suddenly, it all came back to her. When she was ten, Barbara had sold her to a farmer in the hills. But she had managed to escape!
