Chapter 514 Does She Like Robert?
Matthew's cold gaze fell on her as if he would see Robert through her phone.
His gaze carried a sense of oppression, making Mary a bit uncomfortable. She glanced at him with displeasure.
"Can't I even take a call?"
Matthew was silent.
He gripped the cutlery as if he were gripping Mary's neck!
Robert's voice came through. "Mary, what's wrong with Shirley? I just called her, and she seemed upset."
Mary paused for a moment, then she said, "I made her angry. I'll make it up to her."
Robert responded, then asked, "And you? How are you?"
Mary was taken aback, "What?"
Robert said, "Are you hurt? I rushed over yesterday too, but I was a bit late."
He laughed self-deprecatingly.
Mary didn't expect that he had also gone, and a hint of gratitude appeared in her eyes. "Thank you, I'm fine."
Robert said, "Good, that's good."
A brief silence ensued.
Mary was considering whether to hang up when Robert suddenly asked, "Mary, you and Matthew..."
Mary's long eyelashes trembled, and she said, "Robert, thank you for helping me so much. I'll handle my matters."
The implication was that she hoped he wouldn't interfere anymore.
Robert naturally understood.
Thinking of Shirley's attitude, the icy glare on his face intensified.
Mary had reconciled with Matthew.
Just because he was late yesterday.
"Alright, I respect your choice," Robert said softly, then hung up the phone.
Mary looked at her phone, thinking about Shirley.
She must be very disappointed in Mary.
Even though they were already divorced, now it seemed like everything had returned.
Suddenly, a slender, attractive hand appeared and took the phone away. Matthew's deep, cold voice echoed, "So reluctant to part? Do you want to invite him over for dinner?"
Mary frowned and looked at Matthew, "Can you stop being unreasonable?"
Matthew sneered, "I'm being unreasonable? You're reluctant to part with Robert, and I am not allowed to ask about it? Mary, have you fallen for Robert?"
Mary's expression turned cold, feeling that Matthew was being utterly unreasonable!
She stood up to leave.
"Stop!"
Matthew said coldly, "Finish your meal before you go!"
Mary was silent.
She indeed shouldn't be so hard on herself, so she sat down and continued eating, but didn't look at him at all.
Matthew's face grew colder, and the atmosphere around him intensified. Had she fallen for Robert?
When did this happen?
He had always been sending people to keep an eye on her; she shouldn't have had the chance to interact with Robert!
Matthew was extremely agitated, and wished he could kill Robert directly!
Mary finished her meal and took Sarah's family documents to work.
Upon arriving at the studio, she saw Maria yawning as she walked out of the office, looking like she had spent the entire night there.
"Maria, didn't get enough rest?"
Mary greeted her.
Maria nodded, "Yeah, stayed up all night again. My skin is dull and not beautiful anymore. I'm going to the spa this afternoon, come with me."
Mary shook her head. "No, I have to work."
Maria leaned on her. "Work is never-ending, but beauty fades. Come on, please?"
