Chapter 202 Not Knowing What's Good for You
Mary could've just walked away, but if she messed up this collaboration, Matthew would definitely make her life hard.
She could already hear what Matthew would say.
Taking a deep breath, Mary walked over, grabbed a wine glass, and smiled. "Cheers, everyone."
As she downed the wine, someone cheered.
Lily, watching from the side, exchanged a look with a man and then pulled Mary to sit next to him.
The man was Gary Martinez, the main guy of the night. In his early forties, he had an ordinary appearance and a gentle smile when he looked at people.. "Ms. Smith, you nailed the deal between your company and the Henry Group. I'm impressed. Convincing the queer Mr. Jones is no small feat."
Mary smiled slightly. "If the proposal's good enough, that's all that matters."
"Well said."
Gary laughed, casually placing his hand on Mary's thigh.
"Ms. Smith, did you join DK Group right after graduation?"
Mary's body tensed, but she kept her cool. "Yes."
Gary's hand started rubbing her thigh. "Staying at DK Group and achieving so much, you must have something special. I admire hardworking young women like you. Cheers to you!"
He raised his glass, looking at Mary.
Mary tensed up more as Gary's hand wandered. She suddenly stood up. "Excuse me, I'm not feeling well. Need to hit the restroom."
She left the room.
The restroom was at the end of the hallway. Mary quickly walked in, splashed cold water on her face, and tried to calm down.
As she debated going back, the door behind her closed. She turned to see Gary approaching with a smile.
"Ms. Smith, I admire your ability, but you don't need to work so hard. Spend one night with me, and I'll sign the contract. What do you say?"
Mary's brows furrowed. "No way!"
She tried to leave.
But Gary grabbed her and pulled her into a stall. "Don't be ungrateful. If I want you, it's a compliment. Piss me off, and I'll blacklist you in the industry."
Young women usually caved to his threats.
Gary thought this time would be no different.
Mary was indeed beautiful, even without makeup. Her every move had a natural charm.
"Let go of me!"
Mary bit Gary's hand, causing him to release her in pain.
Sheran for the door, but Gary, being faster, grabbed her hair.
"I will have you today, or forget everything else!"
His gentle look turned beastly.
Mary was in pain, unable to struggle with Gary behind her. She shouted for help, but the restroom's soundproofing blocked it.
Despair filled Mary's eyes, and tears fell. 'I should've just left!' She regrated inwardly.
Just as Gary was about to tear her clothes, the restroom door was kicked open, and a chilling coldness swept in. Gary was kicked out!
