Chapter 544 It Does Sound Like Something She Would Say.
Catherine's face turned grim, "What do you mean by that?"
Mary scoffed lightly, "Can't you tell? I'm mocking you. Seeing those things, all you can do is sit in your office and make sarcastic remarks, or maybe post some abusive comments online if you're feeling bold. What else can you do?"
Catherine suddenly stood up, her face looking particularly grim, "Mary, do you think I'm afraid of you? You don't have any backing now!"
"So what?" Mary remained indifferent, "Do you want to kill me?"
Catherine gritted her teeth, feeling very angry. Mary used to be quiet, but recently, whenever she mocked her, Mary would fight back!
And she was no match for Mary!
Mary withdrew her gaze, "Use that time to improve your performance. Jealousy won't make you better; it will only make you uglier."
"You!"
Catherine wanted to rush forward but was immediately stopped by two people.
The atmosphere in the office was tense.
Mary, however, was not affected at all and started to work.
Catherine was pressed back into her chair, giving Mary a venomous look. Just wait, one day she would get Mary!
Hospital.
Michael stood in the hospital room, not daring to look up at Matthew sitting on the bed.
In front of Matthew was a computer, his fingers tapping on the keyboard as he finished processing a document and sent it out.
He closed the laptop and looked up at Michael, "Did she say that?"
Michael was sweating, "Y-yes."
Matthew didn't say anything, rubbing his temples.
That did sound like something she would say.
Even though she was just a few steps away, she wouldn't come to see him.
Matthew felt extremely irritated and took out his phone to call Herman.
A voice, tinged with drowsiness, answered, clearly just waking up.
Matthew said coldly, "How did the task I gave you last night go?"
Herman yawned, "They weren't together, you don't need to worry."
Matthew asked, "Then why didn't you tell me last night?"
Herman, "Because something came up, and I had to deal with it."
Matthew, "Dealt with it all night?"
Herman paused, surprised at how accurate his guess was, then said, "If something had happened, I would have told you. Besides, you're calling me now because you figured it out, right?"
Matthew scoffed and hung up the phone.
Herman got up, the bed in disarray, and scenes from last night flashed through his mind.
In the morning, Shirley had kicked him out of bed.
He didn't expect that after a whole night of chaos, she still had the strength to kick someone.
He had underestimated her.
It seemed he couldn't go easy on her next time!
He took out his phone and called Shirley.
Three beeps and the call was abruptly disconnected
Herman squinted his eyes. How dare she hang up on him?
Shirley sat on the couch, looking at the number on the phone, feeling a headache.
She didn't understand how things had developed this way.
How had she and Herman come to this point?
And what about "Snowy"?
Did Herman not care anymore?
