Chapter 276 Why Not?
Jenny couldn't believe her ears. When had Donovan, who adored her, ever spoken so harshly? He even used her full name!
Jenny felt even more wronged.
"Dad, it was Matthew bullying me. Why are you scolding me instead of helping?"
On the other end, Donovan rubbed his temples. He'd always spoiled Jenny, never letting her suffer. He loved her dearly and had always pampered her.
But now, with one problem after another, he started wondering if he'd been too lenient.
"Matthew just asked you to apologize. It's not a big deal. Just do it, and it'll be over."
"I won't!"
Jenny yelled, "Those severed hands are still here. Why should I apologize? He should apologize to me!"
"Jenny!"
Donovan's tone grew harsher.
"Dad, I won't apologize to that bitch, no matter what. Even if I die!"
She hung up and smashed her phone in anger.
"So infuriating!" Jenny shouted.
Matthew and Donovan were both siding with that witch Mary!
What was so great about her anyway?
Jenny clenched her fists in jealousy, her face twisted with rage.
Mary got Shirley's transfer in the evening. She called, but the signal was bad, and they couldn't talk.
Maybe something happened on Herman's end.
Mary couldn't help but worry.
She spent the entire afternoon thinking about it and could only come up with one possibility: Matthew had instructed Herman.
Mary guessed, 'Maybe he overheard our conversation.'
Shirley always yelled at her to get a divorce, and Matthew had been annoyed with Shirley for a long time because of it.
Mary sighed.
Just then, her door opened, and Matthew's tall, imposing figure walked in.
Mary instinctively looked over. His sharp, handsome face was icy cold, and he exuded a chilling aura.
She wondered whether to ask him about it, but what happened at the hospital earlier made her hesitate.
'What if it wasn't him? Wouldn't I be misunderstanding him again?' Mary thought.
She looked away and said nothing.
Matthew walked in, took off his suit jacket, loosened his tie, and headed straight for her.
Mary saw him approaching and looked confused. But the next second, he grabbed her by the neck and kissed her.
His breath reeked of alcohol!
Mary froze and instinctively struggled.
But Matthew held her tightly, and she couldn't break free. As she twisted, she felt something, and her face turned even redder!
Matthew pressed her down on the couch, using his leg to pin her while he unbuckled his belt.
The sound of the buckle was loud, giving Mary a moment to catch her breath.
"Matthew, you can't do this!"
Matthew kissed her ear and cheek, mumbling, "Why not?"
