Chapter 201 Helped Him Settle It Properly
Shirley froze, then said, "Hold still, I can't keep you steady."
She reached for his pants.
"Hold them up, I'll help you out," she said flatly.
She turned, letting Herman's arm rest on her shoulder, and walked out.
Herman stayed silent, just pressing his lips together.
Shirley helped him sit on the bed. "Anything else?"
Herman's voice was hoarse. "No, you can go."
Shirley quickly left, worried he'd ask for more.
Once the door closed, Herman sighed and adjusted his pants.
Herman pondered, 'Is Shirley clueless or doing it on purpose? Doesn't she know men and women are built differently? The way she pulled up my pants was uncomfortable.'
But even if she knew, she couldn't have done it right. Leaning against the headboard, he tried to ignore the weird feeling.
Mary finished work, thinking about what Matthew had said, biting her lip.
Just then, Lily Harris, another manager, walked over. "You're coming with me to a social event tonight."
Mary felt relieved. "Okay."
She packed up and left with Lily. In the car, she messaged Matthew.
Mary: [Got a last-minute social event, won't be coming over tonight.]
Matthew didn't reply right away.
After the three-hour meeting, he left the conference room looking cold and indifferent.
Michael followed, reporting the schedule. "Mr. Montagu, you have a social event at seven..."
Matthew took out his phone. Hearing Michael, he was about to cancel but saw Mary's message. His eyes darkened.
"Okay," he responded coldly and put his phone away.
Did he not know what she was thinking? She knew people in the department were targeting her, yet she'd rather go to a social event than face him.
Matthew sigh lightly, 'Fine!'
As night fell, Mary followed Lily to The Opulent Oasis.
The private room was on the first floor. Some people were already there.
"Sorry, I'm late," Lily said, laughing and chatting with them.
She introduced Mary. "This is Mary from our department. She's very capable. She handled our collaboration with the Henry Group really well."
Several men looked at Mary with interest.
"Whether she's capable or not, we'll see."
Lily looked at Mary. "You toast first."
Mary had a bad feeling upon entering. Hearing Lily, she knew Lily had bad intentions.
If she left, the partners might get angry and end the collaboration.
