Chapter 582 Will You Obey?
Robert saw this scene, his expression changed, and he immediately stepped forward to pull Mary back.
Without turning his head, Matthew said, "You better not interfere between me and her, or if I lose my grip and she falls, you'll go down with her."
Robert's hand froze in mid-air, his eyes darkened as he looked at Matthew. Countless thoughts flashed through his mind, but he ultimately withdrew his hand.
Mary, afraid of falling, clung tightly to Matthew's clothes. She looked down; the box was on the 9th floor. If she fell from this height, she would surely die.
"Matthew, are you crazy?" Mary asked, her voice trembling as she tried to suppress her fear.
Matthew watched the changes in her expression, feeling her treat him as her lifeline. A strange sense of satisfaction arose in his heart.
"I've been crazy for a long time, haven't you known?" Matthew smirked, whispering in her ear like a devil.
As he leaned closer, her body tilted outward even more, scaring her into immediately wrapping her arms around his neck. Her voice trembled even more, "Put me down, Matthew. If you want to go crazy, find someone else. I don't want to die!"
Instead of letting her go, Matthew tilted her body even further out, "But what can I do? If I go crazy, the first person I'll look for is you."
"You!" Mary's face turned even paler. Seeing Matthew, she bit her lip and softened her tone, "Matthew, we can talk this out. Can you put me down first?"
Matthew raised an eyebrow, "Will you listen to everything I say?"
A flash of anger crossed Mary's eyes. He was threatening her!
"Yes, I'll listen to everything." Mary closed her eyes. For the sake of her safety, she had to compromise for now.
Whether she would follow through was a matter for later.
Matthew stared at her intently, "Mary, you said it. You can't go back on your word."
Mary remained silent.
Matthew put her down. As soon as her feet touched the ground, Mary pushed him away and raised her hand to slap him.
But her wrist was caught by him. His thin lips curved into a cold smile, "Going back on your word?"
With a slight force, he pulled her in front of him, making a move to lift her back onto the railing.
This time, Mary was smart. She sat down on the ground, hugging the railing tightly. No matter how hard Matthew tried, he couldn't lift her.
Mary gritted her teeth and said, "If you have the guts, throw me down with the railing!"
Matthew squatted down, grabbed her face, and made her look into his eyes. He said in a deep voice, "Mary, how dare you threaten me?"
His gaze was dangerous, like a beast ready to devour, and his body exuded a chilling aura, as if he was on the verge of anger.
Mary said nothing. At this moment, she absolutely couldn't go against his will. This man was capable of anything!
Mary turned her head away, avoiding his gaze.
Matthew spoke slowly, "You said you'd listen to me. I warned you not to get too close to him. Why didn't you listen?"
By now, Robert had already left. The lively atmosphere inside the box didn't reach them; the balcony was filled with a cold chill.
