Chapter 598 I Don't Care
Mary hung up the phone directly.
Matthew glanced at her and asked, "Why didn't you answer?"
Mary replied, "It's none of your business whether I answer or not."
Matthew laughed out loud, seemingly surprised by her rebellious side.
Mary looked out the window, but her heart was tense.
Unexpectedly, Matthew spoke again, "Afraid to answer because you're scared I'll find out? Who was it? Robert?"
Mary frowned and looked at him, "Matthew, will you ever stop?"
Matthew's narrow eyes fixed on her, "Then why didn't you answer the phone?"
Mary closed her eyes, exhaled a breath, and calmly said, "Matthew, I don't feel the need to report everything I do to you. You mean nothing to me."
Matthew crossed his arms and leaned back, his handsome and sharp face becoming even colder and more indifferent. His narrow eyes looked at her with a faint chill.
"So what? Do you think I care about my status in your heart?"
Mary was stunned, "If you don't care, then why are you still bothering me?"
Matthew chuckled lowly, "I've told you before, the reason I keep you around is simple. I need you to satisfy my sexual needs, nothing more."
Mary's face immediately showed anger, and she raised her hand to hit him.
Matthew didn't dodge or flinch, just looked at her with deep, cold eyes.
Mary didn't strike. Her hand clenched into a fist, her face turned colder, and she ignored him.
The cable car soon reached the bottom of the mountain. Mary got off and walked straight to the roadside.
Matthew leisurely followed behind her, looking at her slender back, feeling very irritated.
Their relationship was somewhat twisted. She hated him, but he just wanted her to stay by his side.
Yet he couldn't find the right way to do it.
Keeping her by his side, did it have to make her so miserable?
He hadn't done anything to hurt her, right?
Matthew got into his car and drove behind her, keeping an appropriate distance. He didn't ask her to get in the car, instead waiting for her to ask him.
But the result was bound to disappoint him.
Mary walked straight to the bus stop, sat on a bench, and started waiting for the bus.
Matthew parked not far away, walked over, and sat next to her.
Mary took out her headphones from her bag, put them on, and played music, directly ignoring his presence.
Matthew noticed and reached out to take one of her headphones, putting it in his ear.
Mary remained silent and thought, 'The jerk's self-discipline. I couldn't compete with him.'
At this moment, the bus arrived. Mary took back her headphone and got on the bus, finding a single seat by the window. She never thought Matthew would follow her.
Mary glanced at him and saw him standing at the door, seemingly without money.
Mary's gloomy mood finally eased a bit, and a small smile appeared on her lips.
But before she could enjoy it for a while, Matthew walked over and saw her smiling lips.
He smirked, "What? Want to see me embarrassed?"
Mary continued to look out the window expressionlessly, ignoring him.
