Chapter 62 He was Uncertain About the Approximate Time

The car was already waiting outside.

Once in the car, Mary hesitated, "Are we just leaving like this?"

Matthew replied, "Or should we stay for tomorrow's breakfast?"

Mary thought to herself, 'That's it! She really shouldn't have tried to have a proper conversation with him!'

There was a moment of silence in the car.

Back at the hotel, Mary went ahead into the room for a shower.

When she came out wrapped in a bathrobe after freshening up, she saw Matthew on the phone, speaking gently, and she could faintly hear him calling out "Laura."

Mary turned back into the room.

Lying on the bed with her phone, Mary tossed and turned, unable to sleep.

All she could think about was Matthew standing in front of her, dealing with the butler from the Johnson family.

He was so charming!

But soon, the image of him talking to Laura popped into her head.

Mary felt like stabbing him.

Frustrated, she covered her head with a pillow, conflicting and complex emotions swirling within her.

After tossing and turning all night, she barely fell asleep towards dawn.

The next day, she felt like someone was suffocating her, and she almost died!

Mary abruptly opened her eyes, meeting Matthew's smiling eyes.

"What are you doing?" Mary asked as she pushed his hand away, looking at him displeased.

Matthew said, "Wakey wakey, I am taking you on a tour in Emerald Isle City today."

Mary looked at him, her expression as if she was dealing with a lunatic.

"What?" Matthew said as he raised an eyebrow.

Mary ran her hand through her hair, saying, "Matthew, first things first."

Matthew paused, glanced at his watch, and then started unbuttoning his shirt.

Mary was slightly stunned, "What are you doing?"

Matthew said, "You said first things first, didn't you?"

Mary widened her eyes slightly, her cheeks turning red. She then picked up a pillow and hurled it at him!

Mary was so angry. They were getting divorced, and that's all Matthew could think about.

Matthew easily caught the pillow, placed it back on the bed, and calmly said, "We can't file for divorce in a different city."

Mary widened her eyes, "Seriously?"

Matthew replied, "Believe it or not."

With that, he left her room.

Mary stared ahead in a daze, feeling dumbfounded. So she had come all this way for nothing?

Mary was even more frustrated!

After freshening up, She found Matthew on the sofa, dealing with emails on his phone.

"There's food on the table, go ahead." Matthew said without lifting his head.

Mary ate expressionlessly, then asked, "When will you be done with your work here?"

Matthew replied, "Not sure."

"Approximately when?"

"The approximate time is not sure."

Mary took a deep breath before saying, "Matthew, do you have second thoughts about divorcing me? Does Laura know about this?"

Matthew's gaze shifted from his phone screen to her face, his eyes inscrutable.

Mary looked at him mockingly, "What?"

Matthew asked, "Wanna hang out?"

Mary felt utterly powerless!

Why wouldn't he give a straightforward answer on this matter?

He was the one who brought up the divorce, yet now he kept delaying it with various excuses!

If it weren't for him, she would have already been traveling around the world by now!

Taking another deep breath, Mary said, "Matthew, dragging this out isn't fair to Laura either. If you want to be responsible to her, you need to divorce me as soon as possible."
