Chapter 466 Low Grasping in Her Ear

Mary struggled even harder. "Matthew, let go of me!"

But Matthew didn't budge. He didn't force her to do anything; he just held her, his breathing getting heavier.

Mary's face flushed, and the sound of his breathing right by her ear was driving her crazy.

She turned her head and bit down on his shoulder.

Matthew let out a muffled groan, his breath becoming even more erratic.

After what felt like forever, Matthew carried Mary to the bathroom. When he saw the mess on her nightgown, his eyes darkened, but his face stayed calm.

Mary spoke coldly, "I'm not crippled; I can clean up myself."

Matthew stared at her for a moment before turning to leave.

As soon as the door closed, Mary ripped off her nightgown and tossed it straight into the trash.

After cleaning up, she went to the bedroom in a bathrobe. Seeing Matthew wasn't there, she let out a sigh of relief.

She changed clothes and headed downstairs. The butler said, "Mrs. Montagu, breakfast is ready."

"Okay," Mary replied and went straight to the dining room to eat.

When Matthew walked in, he saw she had already finished eating and was about to leave with her bag.

Matthew frowned. "You haven't recovered yet; you don't need to go to work."

Mary replied coolly, "My injury doesn't stop me from working, and I'm not seriously ill. Why shouldn't I go to work? Should I stay home all day looking at your face that I can't stand?"

Matthew's face darkened immediately!

She really knew how to push his buttons!

Mary felt the tension in the air, looked away, ignored him, and walked out!

The butler nearby couldn't believe what he had heard, thinking, 'Is the relationship between Mr. and Mrs. Montagu really that bad?'

Matthew closed his eyes, suppressed his anger, and then dialed a number, instructing coldly, "Don't give Mary too much work; she's not feeling well."

When Mary arrived at the studio, Maria was already there. Maria had placed a glass of juice on Mary's desk and asked with a smile, "You don't look so good. Are you feeling unwell?"

Mary smiled faintly, "I just didn't sleep well."

Maria suggested, "Then don't overwork yourself today. Some of the drawings can be done by others."

Mary nodded. "Okay."

She knew her own condition well and it wouldn't delay her work progress, so she stayed busy.

At noon, when she went to a fast-food place downstairs to eat, her phone rang. She looked at it, seeing it was a call from Shirley.

Mary answered, "Hello?"

Shirley asked with a smile, "Guess who I ran into?"

Mary was puzzled. "Who? Your first love?"

Shirley laughed. "If he were my first love, I'd be happier. This guy is really handsome, but unfortunately, he's not interested in me at all!"

Mary still didn't get what Shirley was getting at. "So?"

Shirley replied, "It's Sean, the handsome guy who saved you at No. 9 Club. You haven't forgotten him, have you?"

Mary's mouth twitched, and she asked, "Where did you see him?"

Shirley answered, "I came out to eat, and he's working as a waiter in the restaurant. Do you want to come over?"

Mary frowned. Why would Sean be working as a waiter in a restaurant?

He should have been making good money at No. 9 Club.

Mary said, "Send me the location."

"Okay," Shirley hung up the phone with a smile. She was thrilled to see Mary focusing her attention on another man.
