Chapter 566 No Deadline
"You're insane!"
Fear flickered in Mary's eyes; she never expected Matthew to be this crazy.
Matthew observed her changing emotions, a faint complexity flashing in his eyes. He moved closer and kissed her lips, tenderly and affectionately, like lovers do.
Mary's eyelashes trembled slightly. The more gentle he was, the more terrified she felt, a deep fear from her soul.
Suddenly, she pushed him away.
Matthew wasn't angry; instead, he stared at her lips with a lingering desire.
Mary calmed down and asked, "Why are you helping Laura?"
"What did you say?"
Matthew paused at her words, then thought of what Sam had done.
So, she was acting so strangely because she thought he helped Laura?
Matthew said calmly, "I didn't help her."
Mary looked at him mockingly. At this point, he was still pretending not to know.
"Matthew, you can't even admit what you've done. I despise you."
Facing her mockery, Matthew remained calm, unaffected, and unbothered.
He walked over and sat beside her, saying calmly, "What about her is worth helping?"
Mary was momentarily speechless.
After a while, she said, "She saved you."
Matthew let out a cold laugh, as if he had heard a joke, and said, "The only person who truly saved me is you."
Mary's eyelashes trembled violently. What did he mean by that?
Two years ago, wasn't it Laura who saved him?
Then what about Laura's leg?
Matthew said, "Can you imagine someone hurting their body to achieve their goals?"
Mary glanced at him, "Aren't you that kind of person?"
"Exactly." Matthew nodded, "So, in that sense, she and I are essentially the same, right?"
Mary said nothing.
Matthew continued, "But people with the same nature are meant to be apart. I still prefer you."
Mary, "Being liked by you is unfortunate."
Matthew smiled faintly, "Mary if you had just walked past me without looking at me back then, your life would be exactly how you want it now."
Mary pressed her lips together, saying nothing.
She regretted it too, but what good was regret?
Seeing her still indifferent expression, Matthew continued, "Mary, stay by my side obediently. I'll give you what you want. Don't try to run away, and don't do anything to displease me, or I don't know what I might do."
Mary closed her eyes, "No time limit?"
Matthew, "No time limit."
A layer of despair covered Mary's face, like a rabbit trapped in a cage, giving up the struggle, not even trembling in fear anymore.
Matthew grabbed her chin, turned her face, and kissed her deeply, this time thoroughly enjoying it.
Mary didn't respond or react, and her body was stiff as a board.
This piqued Matthew's interest. His long fingers touched her body, meticulously teasing every sensitive spot, feeling her stiff body gradually relax. He smiled.
