Chapter 380 Very Easy

Mary's eyelashes fluttered. "What do you mean?"

Matthew just touched her face, then turned and walked away.

Mary jumped up. "Matthew, what do you mean?"

But he was already upstairs, leaving her with no answers.

Mary's heart sank, thinking, 'I stopped talking about divorce, what more does he want?'

She gripped the cutlery so hard her fingers trembled.

After a while, she calmed down and sat back to eat.

When she finished, she got up to leave.

The butler stopped her. "Mrs. Montagu, Mr. Montagu said you'll be living here from now on."

Mary pursed her lips. As Matthew's wife, she should be by his side.

"I'll go pack my things," she said.

The butler nodded and let her go.

Mary went back to Shirley's house, packed her stuff, and cleaned up. She even bought a new couch and tossed the old one.

By the time she was done, it was completely dark outside.

She returned to the Montagu Mansion.

The butler sent servants to help move her things—just a few boxes—up to the bedroom.

The bedroom had a cool vibe, with dark gray sheets and covers.

Mary lowered her eyes and went to take a shower.

Lying in bed, it all felt unreal. She had actually moved in.

Thinking about what Matthew had said, Mary felt a wave of irritation.

And soon, she got what he meant.

The next day, her phone ringing woke her up. She answered, "Hello?"

Shirley's voice came through. "Mary, you're still sleeping? Haven't you seen the news? That jerk Matthew checked into a hotel with a celebrity!"

Mary's eyes snapped open. "What?"

Shirley was furious. "Look at today's trending news!"

Mary didn't hang up but opened the news app. The top story was about Matthew and the celebrity.

The headline was eye-catching. She clicked it and saw a pixelated video.

Mary played the video. The camera shook slightly. In the dim light, Matthew and a woman in a hat and mask entered a hotel together.

After a night, they left the hotel together, acting all cozy.

Mary's heart felt like it had been stabbed, a sharp pain spreading through her.

She gripped her phone tightly.

"Mary, did you see that? He's a complete jerk. Why won't he let you go? He won't divorce you, is he doing it just to mess with you?" Shirley's voice came through.

Mary closed her eyes. She might understand what Matthew meant last night.

He could let her come back as his wife. But she couldn't make him the Matthew he used to be.

He was Matthew, the CEO of DK Group, and he could get whatever he wanted without trying.

Making her feel heart-wrenching pain was a piece of cake for him.
