Chapter 530 Searching for a Marriage Partner
The whip lashed against his body, and Matthew furrowed. Listening to Richard's words, he mocked, "If you hate me so much, why don't you just kill me now?"
"You think I don't want to kill you?" Richard, exhausted from the beating, sat down on a chair, panting heavily, and glared at him fiercely. "Once I find Samuel, I'll kill you immediately!"
Matthew's clothes, arms, and back were torn, with trickles of blood seeping out, making the scene look quite horrifying.
He looked at Richard mockingly, "You might die before you ever see him."
"You bastard!"
Richard's chest heaved with anger, and he grabbed the whip, ready to continue the beating.
Matthew, however, turned around and said coldly, "Save your strength for next time. I have things to do."
"Stop right there!"
Richard was so furious that his hands trembled as he pointed at him.
But Matthew never listened to him.
The fact that he stood still today and let Richard beat him was a mystery.
Even so, Richard didn't feel satisfied; he was even angrier!
He couldn't help but think, how great would it have been if Matthew had been the one burned to death back then?
The Montagu family would surely be a harmonious and warm place now, instead of being turned upside down by him!
Linda hurried in and saw Richard's face full of anger. She quickly found his blood pressure medication and gave it to him. "Richard, don't get too angry. Your health is the most important."
Richard took the medicine, drank some water, and settled down. "Didn't he divorce Mary? Find another girl for him to marry soon and have an heir!"
Linda said, "He definitely won't agree with it."
Richard sneered, "He has to agree! Since he chose to return to the Montagu family, he must contribute!"
Linda looked troubled, "You know his temper; he won't listen."
Richard's eyes were fierce, "Then find a way to make him listen."
Linda thought for a moment and said, "Even though he divorced Mary, I think he still cares about her. How about we let Mary get pregnant?"
Richard scoffed, "Someone like Mary isn't worthy of carrying a Montagu family child!"
Linda sighed softly.
Richard said, "You go find someone. I think the girl from the Johnson family is good. You should spend more time with Mrs. Johnson!"
Linda nodded, "Okay, I understand."
Matthew sat in the car, lit a cigarette, and took a deep drag before noticing the phone on the seat.
He picked it up and saw that Mary had called him many times.
A mocking smile appeared on his thin lips.
After what happened before, she hadn't reached out to him. He had been busy these past few days and hadn't thought about her.
Now she was calling him?
He thought she didn't want to contact him anymore.
He called her back, put it on speaker, and tossed the phone onto the center console.
After three rings, the call connected, and Mary's soft voice came through, "Matthew, where are you?"
Her tone was very calm, with no hint of emotion.
If it were other couples, the girl might already be angry and need the boy to comfort her.
A mocking expression appeared on Matthew's face; they weren't a couple at all.
"What's up?"
He asked coldly.
