Chapter 177 She Knelt Down to You
Laura shook her head, refusing to come down, looking at Matthew with tears in her eyes. "I know I'm nothing to you now. I've been trying to live for you. If you don't want me, there's no point in living."
She turned, arms outstretched, like a butterfly drifting and falling.
"No!" Matthew shouted in shock.
The next second, a cry of pain came from beside him.
"Ms. Griffin, she's kneeling to you!" Sam's voice rang out.
Everyone turned to see Sam had pushed Mary to the ground, forcing her to kneel before Laura.
Mary struggled. "Let me go..." But she was no match for Sam, who held her down firmly.
Sam stared at Laura. "Ms. Griffin, the one at fault here is her, not Mr. Montagu. Please don't blame him. She's the one who refused to divorce out of pure spite!"
Mary's eyes widened in shock.
Laura turned to Matthew. "Is that true, Matthew?"
Matthew stayed silent, his lips pressed into a thin line, his gaze icy as he stared at Sam.
Sensing the hostility, Sam still didn't let go of Mary and said, "You owe Ms. Griffin an apology. You messed up, so apologize!"
Mary struggled to push herself up. "I didn't do it. Why should I apologize?"
She glared at Matthew, "Linda did visit me, but our chat was nothing like what you're implying! I never begged Linda for anything, go ahead and verify it if you dare!"
She looked at Matthew with determination. "Matthew, you can't condemn me based on a recording. I won't accept this!"
The cold wind blew fiercely, chilling Mary to the bone.
Meanwhile, Laura stood on the rooftop, swaying precariously.
Matthew's cold, commanding voice cut through the air, "Mary, sign the divorce papers. I never want to see you again."
Mary's face turned pale, but she kept staring at him, searching for any other emotion. There was none. His eyes were as cold as his expression.
Nearby, Laura watched, a glint in her eyes. Then she muttered, "Matthew, goodbye..."
Seeing this, Sam panicked and grabbed Mary forcefully, trying to make her bow to Laura.
Mary fought back fiercely, but Sam's strength was overwhelming, forcing her head slowly approached the ground.
Mary would never yield. She didn't do it, so why should she admit to it? Never!
Mary bit her lip hard, the metallic tang of blood flooded her senses, overwhelming her as she crumpled to the ground.
"You!" Sam's face turned livid with anger. He was at a loss. If Mary didn't apologize, Laura would die.
At that moment, a cry of astonishment rang out.
Sam looked over and saw two bodyguards who had somehow reached Laura and dragged her to the ground before she could react.
Matthew quickly approached Laura, gripping her wrist tightly. "Laura, don't ever do anything foolish like this again."
Laura threw herself into his arms. "Matthew, if you don't love me, there's no point in me living. Will you divorce her and marry me?"
