Chapter 352 Otherwise, Your Girlfriend Will Be Driven Away in Anger

Matthew's fingers shook a bit as he clutched the photo.

In his head, he saw Samuel's young, handsome face, all fired up, chatting about dreams and stuff.

But all he did was give Samuel the cold shoulder, always using harsh words to crush his hopes.

Samuel didn't care, though. He'd just smile, put a hand on Matthew's shoulder, and say, "Matthew, it's cool if you're like this with me, but if you get a girlfriend, you can't act this way, or she'll run off."

Matthew had shrugged off Samuel's hand. "What I do is none of your business."

He walked away, Samuel calling his name, but he didn't look back.

Matthew shut his eyes tight, and when he opened them, they were icy.

Just then, Linda walked in, setting a cup of coffee next to Richard. "You done talking? Mary's outside."

Matthew's face went stiff, and he got up, heading to the window to see Mary standing downstairs.

The sun was blazing, but she had no plans to come in.

He knew she hated this place.

"Why's she here?" Matthew asked, his voice low.

Linda said, "The servant said she's here to see Gerald, probably to plead."

Matthew's lips pressed into a thin line.

Richard gave Matthew a cold look. "Matthew, you know what to do!"

Linda spoke softly, "Don't be so harsh. We've got everything back. Maybe Gerald just messed up. Since Mary knows him, let's cut him some slack this time."

"Who does Mary think she is?" Richard scoffed. "She can't hold a candle to Samuel!"

He then gave Matthew a stern look. "If you don't deal with Gerald because of Mary, forget about joining the Montagu Group!"

He didn't look at Matthew again, just sipped his coffee.

Linda looked troubled, but Richard was clearly pissed, so she kept quiet.

Matthew turned and left the study, telling the servant, "Tell her to leave."

The servant nodded. "Yes, sir."

"Wait." Matthew called the servant back, frowning. "Don't tell her I'm here."

"Yes, sir." The servant turned and left, looking at Mary outside. "Mrs. Mary Montagu, please leave. Mrs. Linda Montagu is busy, and Mr. Matthew Montagu isn't home."

Mary frowned. "Where's Gerald being held?"

The servant shook his head. "I don't know."

Mary lowered her eyes a bit. "When Aunt Linda's free, tell her I need to see her."

"Okay."

Mary turned and left. As she walked out the gate, she felt someone watching her. She turned around but saw nothing.

She looked away, pulled out her phone, and saw Linda's number. She called.

But the call was declined right away.

Linda wouldn't see her or take her call.

What was Linda playing at? Did she not want her to see Gerald?

Mary pressed her lips together, her finger finally landing on Matthew's name, and dialed.

After three rings, he picked up.

"Hello?" His voice was deep and magnetic, but cold.

Mary said, "Where are you? I want to see you."

Matthew sneered. "You used to brush me off and wouldn't even let me touch you, and now you suddenly want to see me? Need something from me?"
