Chapter 719 Maria Sows Discord Between Sean

Everyone else had left, and Mary had no clue where they went.

Mary glanced suspiciously toward the office. At this hour, Maria should be there.

She was about to head over when she heard a voice. She paused and decided to leave.

Inside the office.

Maria grabbed Sean's tie, her eyes locked on his furrowed brow. She smirked, "Sean, what's up? Did you have a bit too much to drink at lunch? Need some help?"

Maria's eyes were seductive, her body subtly pressing against Sean's.

His body tensed up, veins bulging on his forehead, his handsome face showing signs of restraint.

Sean's breathing grew heavy as he abruptly pushed Maria away.

"What the hell are you doing?"

Seeing Sean's restraint while maintaining his composure, Maria couldn't help but be impressed.

"Can't you tell?" Maria's gaze was intense, "I want to make you my boy toy. You in?"

Sean's veins throbbed, "Get lost!"

He had sensed something was off before.

Maria's attention toward him had been unusually frequent.

And now, she wasn't hiding it anymore.

Sean was furious, but Maria wasn't upset. Instead, she giggled and said, "Sean, I saw someone spike your drink. Judging by your condition, it seems to be kicking in. Going to the hospital might not help now. You could try cold water or toughing it out, but that might cause serious harm to your body. You're still young. What if you can't recover?"

Maria didn't approach Sean again. Instead, she rationally laid out the pros and cons, mixing threats with temptations.

"I can help you. Just listen to me, and I'll make sure you live the life you want. How about it?"

Maria offered an enticing deal.

Anyone else might not hesitate or think twice.

Sean's condition was indeed worsening, but his gaze remained icy.

"I'm quitting." Sean insisted, then turned and walked out the door.

Maria watched him leave, shaking her head in exasperation. Such a romantic fool.

"I know you like Mary, but Mary loves Matthew. You don't stand a chance." Maria began to taunt him.

Sean's hand clenched into a fist. "They'll get divorced."

"Will they?" Maria chuckled, "If they were going to divorce, it would have happened already. Why else would they be entangled for so long? Matthew used to send her divorce papers every day, but she never signed them. Why do you think that is?"

Sean's figure wavered, nearly losing his balance.

Maria stepped closer, continuing, "They love each other. It's just a misunderstanding. Once it's cleared up, they'll be back to normal. And you, you're just an outsider."

Maria stood on tiptoe, her sweet breath brushing past Sean's ear. Feeling his body's reaction, her smile deepened.

Her manicured hand gently rested on his chest, continuing to tempt him, "Sean, forget about Mary. Think about yourself first. Deal with today, then worry about everything else."

His rationality, like a tightly strung wire, finally snapped under her relentless provocation.
